Final Fantasy is a long-running and popular series that has spanned more than a dozen main entries and several spin-offs, but few titles reached the popularity of Final Fantasy 7. People have been cosplaying the characters from the game for ages, but costumes have been popping up a lot more frequently since Final Fantasy 7 Remake released. Now the cosplay is both more intricate and altered slightly to match the title's new costumes.

One fan recently showed off their own cosplay with impressive attention to detail. Posted to Reddit, user likeassassin posted a photo of themselves dressed as Cloud's childhood friend/love interest and butt-kicking heroine Tifa Lockhart.

Not only does the cosplayer look the part, but the outfit is very well-made, and even sports a bracelet with a piece of Materia attached. This was a major change to the overall look of the characters in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, where the Materia a player slotted showed up on the character's equipment. The photographer was @fokken_greed, who has posted a large collection of their work with cosplayers on Instagram.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake brought the entry back into popular culture and it recently released Intergrade, a version updated for the PlayStation 5 that includes an all-new DLC starring Yuffie. Most of the goofy young ninja's story takes place during the events of the main game but adds some important new story elements, such as the inclusion of characters from another Final Fantasy 7 spin-off that no one expected. These characters were part of Dirge of Cerberus, which starred another Final Fantasy 7 companion. This has prompted many to wonder if Square Enix is setting up an introduction to Vincent Valentine earlier than expected.

Yuffie and her companion end up fighting one of the bosses from that game, Nero. This could muddy the storytelling waters down the road since there are not only the characters from the main game but now the spin-off to contend with as well. This goes to show that Square Enix is willing to make major changes to the original story. The fight with Nero in Intergrade wasn't afraid to show blood either, which adds more maturity to the game that could escalate later on.

Additionally, once her adventure came to an end, Yuffie's DLC contains a new ending that extends past the one seen at the end of the game. Here fans see Cloud and the gang after they leave Midgar. Cloud, Barret, Aerith, Red XIII, and, of course, Tifa are making their way to their next destination, which will be the first section of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2. Since Square Enix has been so keen on making big changes, who knows what the developer has in store for Tifa.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is now available for PS5.
