Last month, Square Enix announced that it was releasing another Final Fantasy 7 Remake soundtrack called Final Fantasy 7 Remake Original Soundtrack Plus. The publisher stated that the music compilation would consist of four discs and feature songs from various in-game moments that the original album didn't. It also provided a release date for the product (December 23, 2020) and revealed its cover art, which is a new illustration of Cloud by FF7 Remake director and concept artist Tetsuya Nomura.

Now, Square Enix has provided even more news on the upcoming soundtrack. Not only will the new Final Fantasy 7 Remake album feature songs that didn't appear in the original soundtrack, but it will have songs that never even made it into the game. The developer also provided the product's price tag, for Japan at least, and announced a Tifa-themed bonus item for those that manage to snag a copy of the album early.

Square Enix uploaded a video to its official YouTube channel to preview some of the songs featured. The music viewers hear in the video comes from the album's first disc. The developer also took the liberty of creating pages for the album on the Square Enix site in both English and Japanese, and it uploaded the soundtrack's entire song list to both, so anyone that wants to know what to expect from it can check that out. There are 106 Final Fantasy 7 songs in total.

As for the bonus, it's a mini memo pad based on Tifa. The pad features the cover art used for the "Tifa Theme" music disc in Final Fantasy 7 Remake that shows off Tifa's shoes. The pad will accompany purchases only while its supplies last, hence why Square Enix says it only comes with early copies. Since Square Enix won't make any more pads once they run out, those looking to secure one might want to check out the pre-order system set up on the album's dedicated Square Enix page.

Overall, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Original Soundtrack Plus has shaped into an interesting product. The fact that it features unused FF7 music will likely be its most significant selling point. It's unclear just how many of the 106 songs on the soundtrack will be ones that didn't make it into the game, but it should be more than half, as the soundtrack describes itself as being primarily made up of them. Conceivably, Square Enix will announce an official price for international audiences sometime soon.
