Final Fantasy 7 Remake had an impressive showing at E3 2019, with the action-packed trailers released by Square Enix met with general enthusiasm by the community. To keep the Final Fantasy 7 Remake hype train rolling, Square Enix has now released a batch of new screenshots and character art, giving fans a close look at some scenes from the trailers as well as brand new images that have never been shown before.

The slew of Final Fantasy 7 Remake screenshots highlight FF7's new combat system, as well as some of the game's major players. Cloud is featured prominently, of course, but so are his party members Aerith, Barret, and Tifa. Even Final Fantasy 7 Remake villain Sephiroth gets a close-up screenshot.

Perhaps the most interesting Final Fantasy 7 Remake screenshots released in this latest batch from Square Enix deal with the locations players will visit in the game. For example, we see Cloud standing in what appears to be the Shinra HQ lobby. We also see Cloud and the gang exploring the streets of Midgar. One particularly striking image sees Cloud standing on a train in a group of people, which does a good job at highlight the sheer graphical prowess Final Fantasy 7 Remake is bringing to the table.

Square Enix has shown a lot of Final Fantasy 7 Remake since the game's E3 2019 showcase, but there's still quite a bit that fans have yet to see. For example, we haven't seen the new character designs for Red XIII, Cait Sith, Yuffie, or Vincent yet, and it will be interesting to see what they look like.

For the most part, Final Fantasy 7 Remake has stayed true to the characters' original designs. There have been some slight tweaks here and there in the name of realism, including changes made to Tifa's attire to better fit her athletic fighting style, but otherwise Final Fantasy 7 Remake hasn't strayed far from the source material.

Fans can expect more on Final Fantasy 7 Remake in the months leading up to its March 3, 2020 release date at events like the Tokyo Game Show in September.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake will launch on March 3, 2020 for PlayStation 4.
