The first installment of the Final Fantasy 7 remake was generally well-received, although fans of the original did criticize the changes to the story. Despite some criticism, Final Fantasy 7 has sold well and it seems that plenty of fans are looking forward to the next installment of the game, however, when it will be delivered is still unclear. The director of the game, Tetsuya Nomura, has now given insight into how the team is juggling expectations and planning for the next release.

The Final Fantasy games all take place in different fictional universes and usually follow a band of heroes who need to overcome remarkable odds. Despite some narrative similarities, the games are often praised as important to the JRPG genre and Final Fantasy 7 remains one of the most acclaimed of the series. As a result, a lot of fans wanted to see elements from the original Final Fantasy 7 in the remake but naturally, the title also needs to offer something fresh for newcomers and this is a difficult task. With this in mind, Nomura has explained the development situation for part two of the game.

We would also like to deliver it as soon as possible." This will be good news for fans but some will be concerned at the fact that there is no date and many will wonder why this is.

In terms of what the developer is doing with the game, Nomura did offer some insight, "Since we were also able to see the line of quality from the first installment, we hope to make the next installment even better in quality." This will likely be a positive statement as improving the quality of the Final Fantasy 7 remake once more will be an impressive achievement.
