The Final Fantasy 7 Remake has several differences from the original Final Fantasy 7, including things like an incredible amount of new content and the expansion of Midgar into a full city. Another difference is the introduction of an additional currency called Moogle Medals that players can use to buy some interesting weapons and more.

The Moogle Kid

The Moogle Kid is a vendor that appears in Chapter 8. He's the only vendor that takes Moogle Medals as currency, and he has a variety of weapons and things that that players can only get through him. Players will first have to buy a Moogle Membership Card for 100 gil, but then they will have access to purchase anything in the Moogle Emporium.

Players will need to purchase from the Moogle Kid to be able to complete a side quest, The Secret Medicine in Chapter 14. So it's pretty important to figure out how to farm the medals so players can get all the great stuff that Moogle Kid has to offer.

Getting Moogle Medals

Unlike gil or summon materia, players can't farm Moogle Medals from battles, side-quests, or battles with the most powerful monsters in the FF7 Remake. Medals can only be farmed with one of the many mini-games in Final Fantasy 7.

After getting to Chapter 8, complete the full Kids on Patrol side quests. This will open up a mini-game called Whack-a-Box, and players can earn Moogle Medals every time they play. Unlike the Darts mini game, players don't have to win this game to get a Medal; they'll earn one Moogle Medal even if Cloud gets no points on his Whack-a-Box attempts. But since players can also earn things like the Crescent Moon Charm and Spectral Cogwheel by doing well at it, it's best for Cloud to give it his best.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake players can also nab Moogle Medals from Shinra boxes that are located all over the place, so make sure to break all of them. Medals won't appear in every box, but players should try to break them anyway, as boxes give Potions, Mako shards, and other goodies too.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is out now, exclusively for PS4.
