Although Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will contain the entire Final Fantasy 7 Remake game with graphical improvements, it will also include some story DLC focused on the popular character Yuffie Kisaragi. Traveling with her companion, Sonon Kusakabe, Yuffie will be the star of the Episode Intermission DLC and will have her own unique play style courtesy of her innate Elemental abilities.

FF7 Remake Intergrade is scheduled to drop tomorrow on June 10 for PS5, just over a year after the original game hit PS4. While fans of the action RPG will probably relish the visual upgrades, which include Graphics/Performance modes and DualSense haptic feedback features, the main draw of the re-release is Yuffie's story. Getting access to the DLC is bit confusing, but whether fans purchase it for $20 or get it as part of the $70 FF7 Remake Intergrade package, they will be able to play as Yuffie as she attempts to steal from the Shinra corporation.

Players that choose to jump straight into Yuffie's DLC will eventually encounter enemies, and understanding her strengths and weaknesses is key to successful combat in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade. Her companion Sonon will be AI controlled only, but he can still useful to players. Sonon is apparently pretty tanky, so giving him some Provoke materia to become a target focus for enemies is a good way to give Yuffie some breathing room should she become overwhelmed.

Yuffie and Sonon also have unique synergized attacks. These team-ups are particularly useful for staggering enemies but will also severely limit ATB gauge regeneration. Players that can time these synergized attacks with key moments in fights can avoid struggles with consistently low ATB. Other combat changes in FF7 Remake Intergrade for the Yuffie/Sonon duo include their own Limit Breaks called Bloodbath and Dance of the Dragon, respectively.

But the main way that Yuffie separates herself from the rest of the cast is her Elemental Ninjutsu. She can change the elemental base of her attack between fire, ice, lighting, and wind without relying on equipping the correct elemental materia. Instead, she can make good use of other materia that boosts her stats. This gives her a pretty powerful advantage when finding the best ways to weaken enemies.

When not in combat, Yuffie will be able to throw her giant shuriken around and bust open boxes or other destructibles. There will be plenty of places to explore in the Yuffie DLC, so players may find some unique items if they look hard enough. There will also be the Fort Condor mini-game and Happy Turtle side quests for Yuffie to take part in. On top of that, when FF7 Remake Intergrade releases on June 10, players can redeem a free Summon Materia DLC pack with some beloved creatures in the Final Fantasy series.
