Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is bringing a new Final Fantasy 7 experience to PS5 early next month, but PlayStation hasn't revealed many details about the upcoming next-gen title until now.

PlayStation recently detailed the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, revealing new key visuals, a new character known as Nero, and a new battle system called Collaboration Mode. Among the several additions in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade that make it stand above the initial PS4 remake is a new summon known as Ramuu.

This brand new Ramuu summon will be familiar to gamers who played the release of Final Fantasy 7 for the original PlayStation, but fans who discovered Final Fantasy 7 through the recent remake will soon get used to having the Legendary emperor in their rotation. Ramuu was formerly known as Ramuh in the original release and the summon used to be found in the Gold Saucer, but Square Enix hasn't officially confirmed how Final Fantasy fans will get their hands on the brand new summon in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade. Just like any other summon in the new remake, this one will likely be found somewhere in the newly rejuvenated world of Final Fantasy 7.

Ramuu is a summoned beast who joins any battle with thunderous abilities once the Summon Gauge is accumulated in battle. Though he doesn't appear to the battle as a beast, his attacks will obliterate health bars just like any other summon used properly. Ramuu is able to manipulate thunder freely with his cane which doubles as a staff as he uses it to bury the enemy by casting a roaring thunder across the battlefield.

This brand new summon will be particularly useful on enemies both new and old that are weak to lightning attacks. Final Fantasy lore suggests that the Legendary old emperor judges sinners with lightning and preaches justice to people. Screenshots of Ramuu that PlayStation recently showed off portrayed the sage old mage towering over his enemies as a pink and blue lightning bolt plummets to the ground from the heavens at Ramuu's will.

Ramuu fights automatically when summoned into battle in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, but gamers will also be able to use the ATB to order the new summon to use special abilities. Ramuu's two confirmed abilities are Thunder Lance and Judgement Thunder. Thunder Lance will drop a giant spear that attacks enemies and remains on the battlefield to continually damage enemies for a brief period of time. Judgement Thunder will feel more familiar to the original Final Fantasy 7 summon as the Legendary emperor uses his staff to shoot a powerful lightning storm over the enemies on the battlefield.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade releases exclusively for PS5 on June 10th.
