Final Fantasy 7 Remake was supposed to launch tomorrow on March 3 but ended up delayed until April 10 instead. When Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase announced the delay back in January, he claimed the team needed more development time to polish the product.

Today, however, a new announcement for the game claims that it's finally gone "Gold," which in layman's terms means that the game's development has finalized and that the original product will now have copies made to ship out to the rest of the world. In other words, FF7 Remake will no longer experience any more delays.

The news comes from the game's director, Tetsuya Nomura, who made the statement to an interviewer working with 4Gamer. When asked about the progress of Final Fantasy 7 Remake's development, Nomura stated that he and his team "had some time to improve the quality of the final product." But as of now, they've "already mastered it, so there is no further delay."

So now, at this point, fans can rest assured that Final Fantasy 7 Remake will definitively arrive on April 10, 2020. April, then, will conclude the four long years fans have had to wait since the game's initial announcement back in 2015. It will also conclude the many years these fans spent asking Square Enix to remake the game in the first place.

Nomura and the rest of the original team that worked on Final Fantasy 7 have wanted to recreate the game for as long as fans have asked for it, but Square Enix as a whole has always had other projects that took priority. So the fact the first part of the project has officially completed development must be as big of a relief to them as it is to everyone else looking forward to it, especially since Part 1's delay won't affect Part 2.

Overall, today has been an excellent day for FF7 Remake followers. Square Enix also announced that the long-awaited Final Fantasy 7 Remake demo has finally arrived on the PlayStation Store. Fans have asked for it to release on their home console since seeing leaked footage of it back in December 2019. Up until that time, the demo was only available to those who attended certain promotional events like PAX East, Tokyo Game Show, and E3. If there's anything that can keep fans held over for another month while they wait for the game, it's actually playing it.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake will launch on April 10, 2020, for the PlayStation 4.
