The launch of the highly-anticipated PlayStation 5 version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is only a few days away, and Square Enix is amping up the hype by offering a new DLC pack for the RPG. As soon as the game releases, players will be able to redeem a free summon materia DLC pack that features iconic Final Fantasy creatures and monsters such as the Chocobo Chick, Cactuar, and Carbuncle.

This announcement was made recently by Square Enix, alongside the company’s update that gamers can finally transfer FF7 Remake PlayStation 4 save files to the PS5. In this way, not only will players be able to start from where they left off, they can also receive an extra boost in their summoning power. This is a great addition to any player’s in-game materia collection, especially if they were not able to get these items during their first PS4 playthrough.

On the official Twitter, the team posted that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Item Pack will include three summoning materia featuring the cute Chocobo Chick, the fan-favorite foe Cactuar, and the reflective creature Carbuncle. Five extra accessories will also be included in the item bundle, which will be up for download by the release of Intergrade on June 10, 2021. For those who are redeeming the free upgrade from PS4 to PS5, the developers mentioned that PS4 players who already own these items will still need to download and apply the DLC in order to use them during their PlayStation 5 run-through.

Most fans will likely recall that these specific summoning materia are bonuses from Final Fantasy 7 Remake pre-orders and deluxe editions. Specifically produced for the RPG remake, these new summon materia were not part of the original Final Fantasy 7 game from the PlayStation days. Therefore, hardcore fans who are also completionists may have actually shelled out the extra cash in order to add these into their arsenal. Replies on the official Twitter post have some fans lamenting the fact that these items are being made free for the PlayStation 5 version of the game.

Nevertheless, Square Enix is making it easy for fans to decide to upgrade to Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade for the PS5. With the exclusive Episode Yuffie DLC, PS4 to PS5 save file transfer update, and the free summon materia bundle, the fanbase seems to have a lot of content waiting for them when they do decide to switch to the PlayStation 5. As the release date draws nearer, hopefully more information about what the developers have done to enhance and optimize the game for the next-generation platform will also be made available.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and the Episode Yuffie DLC is set to release for the PlayStation 5 on June 10.
