The popularity of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 seems to have stemmed from the game's good mix of RPG elements, story, gameplay features, and characters. Now, the gaming community can easily name top-of-mind characters like Cloud Strife or Sephiroth, or identify Cloud’s iconic Buster Sword, even if they are not hardcore fans of the title. Recently, Square Enix highlighted Cloud’s equipment from Final Fantasy 7 Remake and posted concept art of other weapons that players can get as they play through the title.Given that Final Fantasy 7 Remake ends at a certain point before the end of the story, new players are not yet given access to the entire cast of Final Fantasy 7 characters. Even though this is remedied through Square Enix’s FF7 Remake: Intergrade version and Yuffie Kisaragi DLC, players are likely expecting to meet other characters like Vincent Valentine, Cid Highwind, and more. This also means that fans can likely look forward to an expanded roster of weapons once Part 2 of the remake is released later on.RELATED: This Japanese Factory Resembles Final Fantasy 7's Midgar At NightOn the official Japanese Twitter account of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, the team shared concept art of Cloud Strife’s weapons. In the single image, fans will likely recognize Cloud’s five other weapons, which include the Iron Blade, Nail Bat, Hardedge, Mythril Saber, and Twin Stinger. Though the image’s text is in Japanese, fans who played through the remake will not find it hard to identify each piece of equipment. The image even gave fans different perspectives of each weapon, including the Nail Bat without its bandage coverings and the materia placement on the Mythril Saber.

Though the post does not give that much information about the weapons themselves, the image provides minute details that were likely not as visible in the actual game. According to Google Translate, the post’s caption explained that some weapons from the original Final Fantasy 7 PlayStation title were included in the remake. However, their designs were brushed up a bit to fit into the new version more. The post ends with the staff asking the community which is their favorite weapon in the game, which fans can answer by posting their replies on the Twitter thread.

Fans are likely excited by these kinds of posts from the official Final Fantasy 7 Remake channels. Given that the team has now posted concept art for Cloud Strife’s weapons, it is possible that they will also share initial weapon designs for other characters such as Barret Wallace, Tifa Lockhart, and Aerith Gainsborough.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is currently available for PC, PS4, and PS5.
