Many in the video game community would likely agree that a villain is likely one of the main factors that make for an effective title. This is seen in the popularity of Final Fantasy 7's main protagonist Sephiroth. And though FF7 is already decades old, many fans of the game likely still recall the sinister vibes Sephiroth gives off throughout the story. Now, another fan has sketched out Sephiroth in all his villanous glory, sharing their artwork online for the FF7 community to appreciate and enjoy.

Final Fantasy 7 fans can attest to how famous Sephiroth has become, seeing as he often makes appearances in many other Square Enix titles such as Kingdom Hearts, World of Final Fantasy, and Dissidia. The character seems to be well-loved enough globally that he was even added as one of the more recent DLC fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. With Sephiroth still relevant to the gaming universe today, it is not surprising that fans will also make original artwork that showcases their love and admiration for the character, even though he is mostly known for antagonizing FF7's main character Cloud Strife for as long as fans can remember.

As a way to channel their love for Sephiroth, and to celebrate the anniversary of the game's CG film Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children, Reddit user TylorHepnorArt sketched the character out and shared it on the online platform. The image is a rough-colored sketch of the antagonist glaring at the viewer with his bright-glowing eyes, and threateningly holding his powerful signature weapon Masamune. Though the artist posted the artwork with the sketch lines still intact, the combination of colors and their depiction of the infamous Sephiroth truly make for an incredible piece of fan art.

The Redditor also wanted to share this particular fan art as a way to show viewers their art process. Looking at their other posts, they have started and continued to work on a "Final Fantasy 7 Drawing Series," where they produced hyper-realistic artwork of other FF7 characters. This includes Cloud, Zack, Tifa, Aerith, Barret, Red XIII, Cait Sith, Cid, Vincent Valentine, and even fellow villains such as Rude and Reno. They also shared their unique take on Yuffie Kisaragi, in the days leading up to the FF7 Remake Intergrade DLC release.

Given that more characters will likely be introduced in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, fans are hopeful that TylorHepnorArt will continue their drawing series. Community members will just have to wait for the artist to post on Reddit once more to see their latest fan art.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is available now on PS4 and PS5.
