Believe it or not, Final Fantasy 7 is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year, the original game launching on the PS1 back in 1997. To kick off this exciting occasion, Square Enix has revealed the official set of Final Fantasy 7 25th Anniversary logos dramatically showing the trio of Cloud Strife, Zack Fair, and Sephiroth. After 25 years, Final Fantasy 7 continues to inspire gamers all around the world, in thanks to its iconic characters and passionate developers. Whether one saw its origin all those years ago, jumped aboard during the expansion of Final Fantasy 7 in the 2000s, or were introduced to it all in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, the series means something special to every player, with no one experience being the same. The fan base is only set to grow with the litany of other Final Fantasy 7 projects in development, announced and otherwise, like Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis, and beyond.RELATED: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Concept Art Gives a Closer Look at Aerith's HomeSquare Enix took to Twitter to unveil the official logos for Final Fantasy 7's 25th Anniversary that will likely make a multitude of appearances this year. The main draw of the logos is the beautiful new artwork of Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth, with Cloud and Zack being shrouded by Sephiroth's flowing angel wing. There are two variations of the logo using the artwork, the first stating the full Final Fantasy 7 title and anniversary name, and another more minimalist one, simply featuring "25th," the art, and the roman-numeral "VII." This logo seems like an evolution of the special 10th Anniversary Final Fantasy 7 logo from 2007.

With the reveal of the logos, one might assume Square Enix has a bevy of Final Fantasy 7 announcements in store for 2022. One such announcement has already come and gone, a special Final Fantasy 7 anniversary stream that unfortunately didn't offer any new information on Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 or Ever Crisis. The broadcast was more specifically about the future of the series' battle royale, Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier, having received a solid amount of support since its launch and appears will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

For longtime fans of the series, seeing Zack in these logos must be heartwarming, as he is one of the chronology's most important (and tragic) characters. Many players were surprised by Final Fantasy 7 Remake's radical plot reveal to change Zack's fate, his death in the original game being an impetus for Cloud's journey. It seems then that both the futures of Remake and Final Fantasy 7 in general, aren't letting players forget about Zack.

Final Fantasy 7 is available as a re-release on Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Steam, and Xbox One.
