The Square Enix Store has revealed some new, upcoming merchandise for Final Fantasy 7. It comes in the form of a rather expensive piece of jewelry inspired by FF7 characters -- a watch pricing in at over a whopping 2,500 dollars with tax included, making it something that may only be for those who live and breathe the game.

Seiko Instruments of Japan manufactured the watch in collaboration with K-uno's craftsmen. Overall, the two groups implemented some interesting design choices, but whether or not these choices justify the watch's price tag, however, depends on anyone looking to potentially buy it.

The watch comes in two different designs: one based on Cloud Strife, and the other based on Sephiroth, The One-Winged Angel. The Cloud design features a 3D Cloudy Wolf emblem and a stainless-steel case with a mirrored finish. It also has a blue sapphire glass crown inspired by materia, a Final Fantasy 7 item that powers a lot of the techniques featured in the game. The Sephiroth design sports a more uniform look, featuring an all-around onyx black case and finish to represent Sephiroth's connection to black materia. It also has a 3D One-Winged Angel emblem.

Both watches feature a nacre central disk inspired by Mako, the liquid version of the lifestream appearing in Final Fantasy 7. They also have back panels made of glass that show off their internal mechanics, allowing owners to see the watch's inner workings. Finally, both watches have the Final Fantasy 7 logo plastered on the rotor.

It should be noted that these images only depict the prototype of the watch and not the full versions. So the design of the watch may be different when it releases on March 31, 2020, a date that seems to compensate for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake delay. The Square Enix Store does inform the watch's release date may change, and potential buyers should watch out for that by following the site itself.

There will only be 77 watches made per region, with the North American versions having unique serial numbers, a limitation that may explain one of the reasons behind the watch's ridiculous price. Anyone looking to sink that much money into this product needs to be confident of their purchase because the Square Enix Store warns that buyers won't be able to cancel or return the watch once the purchase goes through.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake releases April 10, 2020, for the PlayStation 4.
