Final Fantasy is one of the most popular RPG series in the world. The first installment released back on December 18, 1987, and a website has been made to celebrate its 35th anniversary.

The first Final Fantasy game was developed by Square, now known as Square Enix, and originally released on the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was a huge success, causing Square to develop many sequels and spin-offs over the past 35 years.

On the website that just launched, fans will be able to learn more about upcoming games in the series and read posts from Final Fantasy's official Twitter. There is also a message from Yoshinori Kitase, who has worked on many Square Enix games as a director, producer, writer, and supervisor. He stated that the 35th anniversary of the original Final Fantasy also serves as anniversaries for other beloved titles. It has been 30 years since Final Fantasy 5 came out, 25 years since Final Fantasy 7 came out, and 20 years since Final Fantasy 11: Online came out.

There are multiple Final Fantasy games releasing this year that fans of the series can learn about through the website. The first of which, Chocobo GP, releases tomorrow on the Nintendo Switch. Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is another game releasing this month. It will come out on March 18 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis is the last new title that is confirmed to come out this year, which will bring the story of Final Fantasy 7, along with its spin-off titles, such as Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7, to mobile gamers. Though it is an old game, Final Fantasy 6 is coming to PC and mobile device as the last title in the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection.

The most anticipated upcoming title in the series is Final Fantasy 16. Though it may not be releasing this year, more information on the game will hopefully be announced on the website as well.

Even if Final Fantasy 16 isn't releasing this year, fans of the franchise will have a lot to enjoy starting tomorrow. As time goes by, the website may even reveal things that fans don't know about at the moment. Regardless, this is a big year for Final Fantasy, as the iconic series that made a huge impact on the RPG genre turns 35 years old.
