Despite the fact that details about Final Fantasy 16 have been scarce since the reveal trailer last year, it seems that fans can't hold back their excitement for the latest entry in the storied franchise with Final Fantasy 16 topping the latest Famitsu 'Most Anticipated' list.
Updates are expected in 2021 for Final Fantasy 16, which could be driving some of the excitement, and the game's rise up the Most Anticipated chart. As fans wait for more information, and the longer the radio silence from Square Enix continues, the more anticipation builds as fans get anxious for news. Previously, Tales of Arise had topped this chart, with fans in Japan excited about the next release in the long-running RPG series. A new trailer for Tales of Arise dropped last month, and with the promise of more information to come, the game remains high on the 'Most Anticipated' list.
It should be noted that Resident Evil Village, if votes cast for the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game were combined, would find itself in an exact tie for first with Final Fantasy 16. The action horror title from Capcom is going all out in the lead up to the game's release. A new trailer for Resident Evil Village is out, and a demo is giving players their first crack at the game, building more hype. While this poll was conducted at the end of March, it shows that excitement is high for RE: Village as well.
