Final Fantasy 15's Episode Prompto Teaser Trailer Looks Somber

Now that Final Fantasy 15's Episode Gladiolus has officially released today, it seems as if Square Enix is ready to promote the role-playing game's next piece of DLC known as Episode Prompto with a teaser trailer that takes a rather somber tone. The aforementioned first offering of paid post-launch content for the game starring the base game's party member Gladiolus included the teaser for the title's next piece of DLC, and the clip has been making the rounds online.

As seen in the teaser trailer for Final Fantasy 15's next DLC episode below, Prompto, the more lighthearted and carefree member of the the game's core pack of characters, seems to have a much darker side to him. Although little is known about the actual story to the forthcoming add-on, the scene in the teaser appears to hint at a Prompto who is forced to make desperate decision in a cold and desolate world.

For those unaware, the teaser trailer above is an extended look at a Final Fantasy 15 clip released to the public during an Active Time Report live stream for the game back in February. while it was then confirmed that the RPG would have episodes featuring content that made all party members playable, little did fans know that one of the stories centering around the main cast would have the happy-go-lucky and selfie-loving Prompto take on a more solemn persona.

Final Fantasy 15's Episode Prompto will eventually become available to the game's season pass holders, Premium Edition owners, and as a separate purchase when it launches sometime in June later this year. Following Prompto's standalone story will be Episode Ignis, which will be trailed with the multiplayer expansion Comrades, but neither of these add-ons have a release window at this point in time.

All things considered, it will be interesting to see exactly why Prompto is wielding the revolver in the teaser trailer, and more importantly, who is on the receiving end of the barrel. Until then, though, fans will have to be content studying Prompto's photography in an attempt to discern the potential darkness hidden within Final Fantasy 15's seemingly carefree party member.

Final Fantasy 15 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while Episode Prompto is set to release sometime in June 2017.
