Final Fantasy has been a gaming staple since the first game releasing in 1987. With Square Enix's latest installment of Final Fantasy releasing in 2016, fans and players alike have loved Final Fantasy 15.

Final Fantasy 15 has had fans talking for awhile as it was highly anticipated, also being the first in the series to be open world, and having the ability to mod the game.

With new DLC coming to the game and a new Royal Edition set to launch as well, players could be wondering, "What's next?"

Hajime Tabata, Final Fantasy 15's director and pictured above, states that he is "focusing on a new game design that could further explore the possibilities of AI and procedural technology." Could this mean a larger scale open-world for the next installment of Final Fantasy?

Tabata also states that he "know[s] how our gaming engine must evolve in the future. All these elements that we acquired from Final Fantasy 15 will form the basis of what we will apply in our next project; which I believe will be a game that only we - with this foundation to draw upon - would be able to accomplish."

In all of the updates that Final Fantasy 15 has released, including bringing the game to PC, the game and its developers have done a lot to improve it. Players ask for changes and updates and Square Enix starts the discussion.

Tabata also mentions that "there is a strong demand for a story that focuses primarily on Aranea. However, we don’t have such plans at the moment. But like Episode Prompto, if we get the chance to portray Aranea in her own episode, we’ll definitely put everything we got into her story.”

Square Enix has the desire to give the fans what they want and with Final Fantasy 15, this is no exception. For future games, nothing is concrete at the moment, but players can hold onto the fact that Square Enix seems to have their best interests at heart and listens to suggestions when it comes to its games.

Final Fantasy 15 is out now on PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC release slated for March 6.
