Between the Lapis Manalis dungeon, the new story quest trial against a secret boss, and the Euphrosyne alliance raid, players that enjoy group content will not be disappointed in this update. Some of the changes were briefly discussed during "Letter from the Producer Live Part 75," which also revealed the release date for Patch 6.3. In order for paladins to comply with the design choices made for Endwalker, several abilities such as Goring Blade and the Confiteor combo have been adjusted to do more burst damage. The defensive ability Bulwark returned to Final Fantasy 14 after being removed in Shadowbringers, and Divine Veil has been changed to be more responsive and provide a protective shield to all party members including the paladin upon use, much like the warrior's Shake It Off ability. In addition, machinists got some much-needed attention in this patch. Hypercharge received a charge-based rework and Dismantle returned to the game as a raid utility cooldown for machinists to use. With today's update, more side quests were also added to Final Fantasy 14, including the next chapter of Tataru's Grand Endeavor. Players will need to have completed the Four Lords trial series from Stormblood in order to do these quests. Those that do will be rewarded with a new, Far Eastern-themed glamour. Plus, swimming and diving were added to Upper La Noscea, one of the zones from A Realm Reborn. According to game producer and director Naoki Yoshida, the development team worked on that in their spare time.

Furthermore, new housing plots, wards, and subdivisions were added to each server. However, players will want to go over the housing changes that came with Patch 6.3 before entering their gil for a new housing plot. The next round of housing lottery entries begins on Sunday, January 15, and will last for a few days after. With plenty of content out now, and more content coming soon after, Patch 6.3 looks to be a fun time for Final Fantasy 14.

Final Fantasy 14 is available now for PC, PS4, and PS5.
