Final Fantasy 14's long-awaited Patch 5.5 arrives next Tuesday, allowing patient fans to experience the beginning to the end of Shadowbringers. While it has been confirmed that the actual conclusion to the Shadowbringers story will be the beginning of Endwalker, there are several layers of content that players will be able to enjoy outside of the main story questline.

The Nier Automata-themed Alliance raid will reach its conclusion, pulling the curtain on the expansion-long collaboration with director Yoko Taro. Players will also have the opportunity to fight the final Weapon, Diamond Weapon, in The Sorrow of Werlyt trials, concluding the Garlemald side-story. Players who wish to unwind in the Golden Saucer will have a special reward to look forward to, which for some players it was a long time coming.

On Twitter, Final Fantasy 14 has confirmed the return of the highly requested and sought-after hairstyle, the Modern Aesthetics - Rainmaker, for Patch 5.5. Unrelated to the Japanese wrestler Okada, the Rainmaker is coveted among players due to its rarity, appearing twice in timed-exclusive Make It Rain events in 2017 and 2018.

The hairstyle has not appeared in either the following 2019 and 2020 events, much to the annoyance of fans who missed out or didn't play the game during that time. After many fan requests, it seems Square is answering player's demands, allowing players to purchase the coveted hairstyle with their hard-earned MGP.

Patch 5.5 will also allow players to purchase golden variants of rideable mounts with gil, the in-game currency of Final Fantasy 14. This gives players who may have a bit too much money on hand and on their retainers to flaunt their wealth or purchase that much-needed Golden Namazu mount. There will also be an Easter-themed Hatching-tide event on April 14th, giving players the chance to obtain a chicken-themed outfit.

Final Fantasy 14 is out now on PC and PS4, with a beta launching on PS5 on April 13.
