Final Fantasy 14 is approaching the release of Endwalker's next major content patch, and ahead of the Letter from the Producer livestream, Naoki Yoshida has taken some time to discuss the content that's coming in January. It's no secret that Endwalker has been a roaring success for Square Enix, as Final Fantasy 14 doubled its player population with the expansion's release, and subscription numbers continue to grow. New Data Centers with several new Worlds were implemented over the course of 2022, and the housing expansion slated for Patch 6.3 in January seeks to further address the population boom.

However, the upcoming Patch 6.3 titled "Gods Revel, Lands Tremble" promises more than just the next chapter in Final Fantasy 14's story. It introduces the successor to Aglaia in Euphrosyne, the second wing of Endwalker's Alliance Raid series. Yoshida describes it as the divine realm of happiness and revelry, slated to feature the next four Eorzean gods as boss encounters: Nophica, Althyk, Halone, and Menphina. The next patch will also see the opening of a new Deep Dungeon in Eureka Orthos and the debut of Endwalker's final Ultimate Raid.

Final Fantasy 14's producer Naoki Yoshida has revealed that Myths of the Realm will retain its festive tone with Euphrosyne, stating that some of the Eorzean gods may surprise players with how they're depicted. When asked if Nophica will match her famous depiction on the Twin Adders poster, Yoshida clarified that while the developers want to fulfill player expectations, it would be best to keep those expectations measured. The fights of Euphrosyne will be an interesting blend between cute and relentless, and given that Menphina is often depicted as a maid with a skillet, it should give Final Fantasy 14 players an indication of what the second Alliance Raid will have in store for them.

In terms of the next Ultimate, Yoshida was quick to mention that its difficulty would not rival Dragonsong's Reprise, implying that the developers consider it an outlier rather than the norm going forward. Though this may come as a relief to several statics who broke under the rigorous progression of Final Fantasy 14's Dragonsong Ultimate, Naoki Yoshida says that the new Ultimate will be sufficiently long and suitably difficult, and that Final Fantasy 14 players will be able to see a preview during the next Letter from the Producer livestream.

Lastly, the upcoming Eureka Orthos, set in the depths of the Crystal Tower, will herald the return of the traditional Final Fantasy 14 Deep Dungeon format not seen since Heaven-on-High was added in Stormblood. Taking player feedback into account, Yoshida claims that Eureka Orthos will have a comparable difficulty to Heaven-on-High, with the reward for completing it solo still being a title. Among other changes teased for Patch 6.3, Naoki Yoshida stated that the Paladin job would be receiving a complete overhaul, and promised that the Manderville Weapons Questline won't end in January but, in fact, is going to get much worse.

Final Fantasy 14 is available now for PC, PS4, and PS5.
