About a month after Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker launched, patch 6.05 is now live and has new things for players to do, items to obtain, savage raids, and battle system adjustments. After the patch dropped, the queue to get into the MMO spiked in congestion (more than usual as of late) with players thirsty to get into the new content.

While the patch has not touched Final Fantasy 14's main story, fans are most excited about The Excitatron 6000, a new Treasure Hunt instance similar to the Lost Canals of Unzair and Aquapolis. New furnishings were also released that are the winners of the Final Fantasy 14 furnishing design contest back in 2019. In terms of classes, a lot of DPS jobs got buffed while Reaper got a little nerfed.

New Treasure Hunt Instance: The Excitatron

The Excitatron instance.

The Excitatron can be accessed now with Timeworn Kumbhiraskin Maps (which can be obtained with a level 90 Disciple of Land class). These maps can be found in Ultima Thule by Botanists and Miners and in Thavnair by Fishers. While the maps can sell for gil, they can be now used for a chance to enter The Excitatron instance, which can reward the player with even more gil than they could get by selling the map.

Of course, the instance has a level requirement of a combat class at level 90 and has a party size limit of eight players. The instance can also award interesting items. One such item is a new fashion accessory, the Archangel and Pixie Wings. Players can also get a new minion in Final Fantasy 14 that was added with the instance, the Royal Lunatender.

New Housing Items

One new housing item that has amused many fans is the Dance Pole that is now purchasable for two thousand MGP at the Gold Saucer. Unfortunately, the Dance Pole cannot be interacted with, but RP clubbing players have still picked the new item up. Outside of that, there are the winners of the furnishing design contest, the Walnut Flower Vase, and the Porogoo Lawn Ornament. The flowers can be crafted by Alchemist players and the lawn ornament can be made by Carpenters.

Housing Merchants now sell Ivy Murals and Coldbare Trees. Other craftable furnishing items in Final Fantasy 14 include an Imitation Wooden Skylight, Loft Bed, Miniature Antique Clock Tower, Shirogane Pinweel, Shoe Rack, Matching Cushions, and a New World Borrito Lunch. All can be made by crafters that are at least level 86.

Battle System Adjustments

Split image of Monk and Dancer.

The battle system adjustments were mostly made for DPS classes, and it was mostly in the form of buffs. For Monks, they now chakras even if their attacks miss a target. For example, they get a Raptor Chakra even if they miss a target while under Perfect Balance with Arm of the Destroyer. The same goes Rockbreaker and Four-point Fury with their Opo-opo and Coeurl. Chakras. This is also true of gaining Formless Fists with Flint Strike and Rising Phoenix.

The Dragoon's Nastron, Geirskogul, and Wyrmwind Thrusts have a higher potency. For Samurai, the range of some of their attacks such as Biganbana have doubled from three to six yalms in range. The Fey Union action of Scholars also doubled in its range, increasing from 15 to 30 yalms. Summoner's Fountain of Fire and Brand of Purgatory have increased potency. Reapers are the only class that got nerfed, with their Arcane Crest's cure potency with the Crest of Time Returned effect getting reduced by half.

Effect statuses dealt by Ninja's Raiten have been increased in duration. Their ability, Fleeting Raiju increased in potency but its ranged reduced greatly from 20 to just three yalms. The ability can now also be set to the players' hotbar, as it no longer is automatically granted when using Forked Raiju. Bunshin now changes to Phantom Kamaitachi when executed and the Phantom Kamaitachi Ready status effect now as a duration of 45 seconds. Lastly, Phantom Kamaitachi no longer takes away a stack of Bunshina and the Ninki Gauge has changed from five to 10.

New Savage Raids

Split image of new Pandemonium Savage Raids.

Four Savage level duties have been added, one for each circle of Asphodelos in the Pandæmonium storyline. The First Circle requires an item level of 570, the second requires 575, and the third and fourth need an item level of 580. All have a 90 minutes time limit except for the Fourth Circle, which has a time limit of 120 minutes. To unlock these raids, players must talk to Nemjiji in Labyrinthos as a level 90 combat class.

The Savage Raids, of course, have their rewards. Treasure coffers from these raids deal out Asphodelos Coffers. Using Asphodelos Coffers will transform the item into a piece of gear of the players' current job. It is only The Fourth Circle savage raid that yields weapons to players. These rewards are only dealt out once a week and are reset on Tuesdays. Players will need to be careful, as they will obtain fewer rewards if they are with players in the party going at the savage raid twice prior to the weekly reset.

Along with gear, players will get an Asphodelos Mythos. Within a week, a player can obtain one per savage raid. With a certain number of these tokens, players can trade for high-level gear with Mylenie at Labyrinthos or Djole in Radz-at-Han. For eight Mythos, players can trade for a weapon, body gear, or leg gear. For five, players can get a Gladiator's Arm and six can get headgear, hand gear, and feet gear. Four Mythos can be traded for accessories.

New Tomestones And Gear

Au Ra with tomestone.

Also added are the new tomestones, the Allagan Tomestones of Astronomy. Players can obtain 450 of them per week and carry two thousand at maximum. Like the Allagan Tomestones of Aphorism, the new ones can be exchanged at Radz-at-Han. Along with these new tomestones, the amount of Aphorism tomestones a player can obtain in dungeons has been increased. Along with the new tomestones are new gear sets that go along with the savage raids and tomestone exchanges. A new purely cosmetic set of gear has also been released that can be crafted.

Final Fantasy 14 is available now for PC, PS4, and PS5.
