About a couple of months ago, the video game publisher and developer Square Enix officially announced that its MMORPG Final Fantasy 14 would be receiving a crossover experience with Final Fantasy 15 which includes the hero Noctis Lucis Caelum. Now, the company has officially made it so that the event in question is live, with the FF14 crossover event, “A Nocturne for Heroes”, running through May 27, 2019.

Those Final Fantasy 14 fans who decide to dive into the crossover event with FF15 will see Noctis enter the world of Hydaelyn in his Regalia mount, and he will join the Warriors of Light in battle. The event also features a number of rewards themed after Final Fantasy 15 that players will be able to earn, including the aforementioned Regalia mount, Noctis’s hairstyle and outfit, the Noctis Lucis Caelum Triple Triad Card, as well as some musical compositions from FF15.

In order to participate in Final Fantasy 14's “A Nocturne for Heroes” event, it's important to note that players must reach Level 50 in the game. For those who have yet to reach that state yet, players can get there a bit faster by utilizing Tales of Adventures items in order to catch up with friends already prepared for the FF15 crossover content. In addition to this method, they could also pre-order the forthcoming FF14: Shadowbringers DLC, as the pre-order will grant players with with the Aetheryte Earring, which increases experience earned by 30% when one is Level 70 and below.

For those unaware, the "A Nocturne for Heroes" event isn't the only crossover that the MMORPG has held since it was released, as Final Fantasy 14 held a Monster Hunter crossover event that added the creature known as Rathalos into the game. In addition to this, Square Enix also has plans to hold a Nier: Automata crossover in FF14 called YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse, which will add a series of 24-player raids to be featured in the title's Shadowbringers expansion.

Beyond the MMORPG's current platforms, game director Naoki Yoshida recently hinted that Final Fantasy 14 could come to Google Stadia, as well as Nintendo and Xbox platforms. Should this come to pass, then it would be interesting to see how much larger the player base grows and if it would fuel even more crossovers in the future with properties held by the Big N and Microsoft.

Final Fantasy 14 is available now for PC and PlayStation 4.
