Since initially releasing to dismal reviews and heavy fan backlash, Final Fantasy 14 has since become one of the greatest comebacks ever in the gaming industry. Through an entire relaunch and subsequent expansion releases, Final Fantasy 14 now stands as one of the most popular MMOs ever. With Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker coming out later this year, there are many new features fans are eager to dive into, including a new option for character creation.

For the first time in the history of the Final Fantasy franchise, players can now play as male Viera in Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker. With only small glimpses shown with the initial reveal, Square Enix has finally been able to showcase just how the players will be able to customize their own male Vieras.

The character creation system for male Viera was demonstrated during the recent Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker benchmark reveal. During the broadcast, Final Fantasy 14 lead designer Naoki Yoshida showcased many of the options that will be available for male Vieras through the character creation screen. In the five minute section, as captured by DualShockers, Yoshida provided the first detailed look at the new race variant that will be available come Endwalker's release on November 23.

The reveal of male Viera within the character creation system has definitely caused a stir amongst the Final Fantasy 14 player base as it shows off one of the upcoming expansion's most anticipated features. The reveal of the male Viera was met with widespread fanfare as the anthropomorphic race had exclusively been female since first being introduced in Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced back in 2003. Fans were so enthralled with the new gender that Final Fantasy 14 players caused "Bunny Boys" to trend on Twitter shortly after the reveal of male Vieras.

While the male Vieras have taken most of the attention, the recent broadcast brought along a slew of new information for Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker. The stream showed off many other facets of the new expansion including details around the new jobs coming to Endwalker. There was quite a bit fans were able to learn from the broadcast but unfortunately it has yet to be fully translated for non-Japanese speakers meaning only tidbits of information are slowly coming out.

Yet, even without a full translation, fans have still be able to gather enough information to further stir the excitement for Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker. With the release still months away, those anticipating the chance to play as male Vieras can plan ahead through the character creation clip so they can join the adventure as quick as possible.

Final Fantasy 14 is currently available on PC and PS4, with PS5 support coming later in 2021. Endwalker will release on November 23, 2021.
