Final Fantasy 14 recently scheduled another 14-Hour Broadcast, a special streaming marathon production put on by the development team. The upcoming Final Fantasy 14 broadcast will be the eighth in its history, and will feature a Live Letter from the Producer as well as a special guest: Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of the Final Fantasy franchise.

The 14-Hour Broadcast for Final Fantasy 14 begins on October 7 at 8 PM PDT, and runs until 10 AM on October 8. Though the broadcast will only have Japanese audio, the Live Letter from the Producer will also have English text. Players can watch the 14-Hour Broadcast on the official Final Fantasy 14 YouTube, Twitch, or Niconico.

After the Live Letter from the Producer wraps up around 11:30 PM, Final Fantasy 14 will be doing a series of fun segments for players to enjoy. The schedule features quizzes based on Final Fantasy 14 music and the Eorzea Cafe, a chat with members of the Japanese voice cast, and a live Q&A. The event will wrap with a chat between Final Fantasy 14 director and producer Naoki Yoshida and Hironobu Sakaguchi, the “Father of Final Fantasy” himself, as they discuss their hobbies, experiences, and game design.

Sakaguchi was the creative mind behind every Final Fantasy title up until 2003, when he left Square Enix to form Mistwalker. Last September, Sakaguchi began his journey in Final Fantasy 14, cruising through the game at breakneck speed. He is now an accomplished raider, landowner, and advocate for Final Fantasy 14–not to mention a personal friend of Yoshida, who helped celebrate Sakaguchi’s one-year anniversary with the game. Many fans hope Sakaguchi’s increased interactions with Final Fantasy 14 could lead to him collaborating with Yoshida for a future raid series.

The Live Letter from the Producer will be discussing Final Fantasy 14 Patch 6.2, and will be taking a closer look at the features coming in Patch 6.25. Final Fantasy 14 will also be taking a closer look at the work done by the Scenario Team, with special guests including lead story designer Daichi HIroi and senior story designers Natsuko Ishikawa and Banri Oda. The Live Letter will begin at 9:30 PM, and is the second event of the 14-Hour Broadcast.

Players will probably not get any new information about Final Fantasy 14 Patch 6.3 or the next expansion just yet. The Live Letter from the Producer for 6.3 will likely happen sometime in November, with its release in December or early January. An expansion announcement probably won’t happen until the currently-unannounced Fan Festival, likely to occur next summer.

Final Fantasy 14 is available now for PC, PS4, and PS5.
