Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker lifted the embargo on the Media Tour on Wednesday, meaning content creators who attended can share the experiences they had. Most highly anticipated from the information revealed is the changes being made to the playable jobs.

Last month, Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker released the Job Actions Trailer, providing the first look at the new spells and abilities the seventeen existing jobs, and the two new ones, would get. The Media Tour a couple weeks later let the invited fans try out these changes, which they can now share with players everywhere.

All of the jobs in Endwalker are changing, though some less than others. The tanks all got a powerful support ability, more self-healing, and a powerful area-of-effect attack, like the Paladin’s Blade of Faith, Truth, and Valor and the Dark Knight’s aptly-named Shadowbringer. Scholar and White Mage get some fun toys as well; the former gets Expedient, an area buff to hasten and protect the party, and Protraction, which increases a single target’s maximum hit points, while the latter gets Lilybell, a fountain that heals their party when they take damage.

Damage-dealing classes get all sorts of new tricks, including the Black Mage’s icy-hot Paradox, the Red Mage’s flowery Resolution, the Machinist’s supercharged Chain Saw, the Samurai’s devastating Ogi Namikiri, and a dozen others too numerous to recount.

Of course, Endwalker is changing some jobs significantly. Astrologians lost most of their shielding abilities, but are getting Exaltation, a mitigating buff that heals after a delay, Macrocosmos, a beautiful area damage spell that heals allies based on the damage they take after the spell, and Astrodyne, a self-buff that changes based on how many astrosigns they have collected with their arcanum. Monks now have a new combo system called Masterful Blitz, which allows them to perform powerful attacks, including their new ultimate ability, Phantom Rush. Summoners no longer use DoTs in Endwalker, instead summoning Ifrit, Titan, and Garuda to wield their prodigious powers in unique elemental phases.

Final Fantasy 14 fans also got to take the Sage and Reaper jobs coming in Endwalker. The Sage, a high-tech healing class, can toggle Eukrasia to change their healing spells into shields and their damaging Dosis into a DoT effect, can heal a target whenever they attack and can unleash support abilities using their Addersgall mechanic, a resource that charges automatically in battle, and the Toxikon attack using their Addersting, which is granted when their shields break.

The Reaper, on the other hand, is a stylish melee DPS class that's worthy of recreating for a Final Fantasy 14 cosplay contest, that increases their Soul Gauge with normal attacks, which they use to conjure a demonic avatar to deliver combo attacks and increase their Shroud Gauge until they can use it to fuse with their avatar, unlocking devastating abilities for a short time.

It’s important to remember the information revealed on Wednesday is subject to change, but while some numbers may be tweaked, it’s safe to assume the framework will stay close to what was shown.
