Final Fantasy 14 fans may soon have the opportunity to experience the world of the game in a new way as Square Enix cooks up an unusual piece of merchandise. Fans hungry for more Final Fantasy  content may not have to wait long for an unusual tie-in book.

Final Fantasy is a well-known RPG series that has formed the foundation for games, merchandise, movies and more, creating a wide variety of ways to enjoy the franchise. Square Enix is brewing up a new way for fans to consume the series, this time literally.

With the increasing popularity of Final Fantasy 14, Square Enix evidently is looking to capitalize on the more culinary-inclined side of the fanbase, with a cookbook full of recipes from the lands of Hydaelyn and Norvrandt. The now-deleted description speaks volumes about the contents, and what recipes will make the cut. Farmer's breakfast, Knight's Bread of Coerthas, and La Noscea's Rolanberry Cheesecake were all confirmed by the description, and the book's price of $35 indicates there will be much more in store.

Unusual merchandise is not uncommon for the Final Fantasy series, with a recent announcement of Final Fantasy 7 Remake phone chargers showing that Square Enix is not afraid to create some outlandish products. The series has seen many tie-in products over the years, and there is definitely a market for food-related video game tie-ins, as strange as it may sound.

While a cookbook may seem like a strange idea for merchandise, it is not completely unprecedented given the amount of detail given to food in Final Fantasy 15. If the developers are willing to actually cook the food in real life for accuracy, then it makes sense that the recipes would have been compiled at some point for the trips. Regardless of how it happened, the Final Fantasy 14 cookbook is happening, and replies to screenshots taken of the description before it was removed show excitement from the food-loving side of the fanbase.

It appears Square Enix was unprepared to reveal the cookbook at this time, since the description has since been edited to make the book look more generic. The book's cover also does not appear to be finalized, indicating that the product may be some time away. Fortunately, Wario64's screenshots give fans a tantalizing description of the delicious treats included, and Final Fantasy gains another point to use in the even more outlandish wrestling tournament RPG war.

Final Fantasy 14 is out now on PC, PS4, and PS5.
