When it comes to marketing within video games, few companies have made their brand known across several generations as the Butterfinger candy has. From subtle billboard advertisements such as the ones featured in the PlayStation 1 classic Cool Boarders 2 to full-on collaborations with video game developers in recent years, the peanut butter candy bar brand continues to be synonymous with gaming culture.

Butterfinger and Square would first make their unexpected collaboration starting with Final Fantasy 7 Remake, offering an exclusive PS4 dynamic theme based on Tifa Lockhart with the purchase of Butterfinger candy bars. While the dynamic theme was a timed-exclusive, eventually releasing for free on the PSN store, it seems that the company will once again collaborate with a Square IP according to early reports.

On May 3rd, Butterfinger and Square will collaborate once more, this time on Final Fantasy 14 exclusive content where players will have the chance to earn a special edition mount through June 30th. Players who spend $5 worth of Butterfinger candy bars and upload proof of purchase on this website will earn a "Chocopokkur" mount, a chocolate variant of an already existing mount known as the Korpokkur Kolossus. The site that players will use to redeem for the mount will be active on the start date of the event.

Final Fantasy 14 Butterfinger Mount

Players can earn the Korpokkur Kolossus mount through normal means via the Gold Saucer, requiring the player to spend a massive 750,000 MGP in order to purchase the bouncing round green plant mount. While earning that much MGP can be steep, it is certainly obtainable for players who take advantage of everything the Gold Saucer has to offer, from daily lottery to fashion reports and mastery of the GATE mini-games. The Chocopokkur, for many players, will be the less stressful approach, only allowing the player to simply spend on average five candy bars in total.

Final Fantasy 14 is available now on PC and PS4 with a PS5 beta currently available.
