When Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age first launched on PS4 in 2017, it was hailed by many outlets as the remake/remaster of the year. It wasn't surprising then when it was ported to PC the following year and finally even to the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One on April 30, 2019.

What was surprising though is that the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One versions of FF12: The Zodiac Age included brand new features not found on the PC or PS4 versions of the game. Namely, these were the License Job reset function, which allowed players to change jobs by visiting Montblac; a sizeable increase of Gambit sets from 1 to 3; the Improved New Game Plus, which brought over items; and 60 FPS, on the Xbox One version.

Now, over a year later, Final Fantasy 12: Zodiac Age patch 1.0.4.0 has released for PC and PS4. It simply does two things: adds the Job reset function and the Gambit set increase to these versions. It's a relatively small change but an incredibly important one, so it's unsure why it took so long.

Regardless, these new features may come in handy for fans of the game. There's little doubt more currently have their eyes cast on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, but there's plenty of reasons to return to FF12, from its wonderful hunts, beautiful graphics, and engaging story.

Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
