It has been almost 21 years since Square Enix first released Final Fantasy 10 for the PlayStation 2, and the game's fans continue to produce creative work featuring characters from the title. Despite the love that the community is showing, Square Enix seems to be content with producing official merchandise or simply including Final Fantasy 10 characters in other spin-off games. Recently, an FF10 fan showed their adoration for the game's Ronso party member Kimahri by making a very detailed artwork for the character.

Even though Final Fantasy 10 has been ported to different platforms across the years, Square Enix does not seem to have the title slated for a remaster into modern gaming platforms. This may come as no surprise, though, especially since FF10 has turn-based gameplay that may seem dated for this gamer generation. The company is likely focusing on more prominent titles such as Final Fantasy 7 Remake, the upcoming Final Fantasy 16, and continuing the success of its MMORPG Final Fantasy 14.

On Reddit, user TylerHepnerArt posted a photo of their Final Fantasy 10 artwork. The image features Kimahri, which fans will likely recall as the party's only Ronso member and a guardian of Final Fantasy 10's female lead Yuna. According to the artist, their Kimahri painting is a continuation of their fan art series featuring the different characters from the game. Upon checking their previous posts, they have already completed pieces that center on Tidus, Yuna, and Auron.

TylerHepnerArt mentioned that Kimahri is one of their favorite character designs of all-time, which is why they took more time in making the art piece. They also asked the Reddit thread which character from the game they want to see next. Many Redditors replied that they would love to see the artist's version of Final Fantasy 10 black mage Lulu. For fans who are interested in purchasing art prints, the artist shared an Etsy shop link where they can place orders.

Final Fantasy 10 still has many characters that TylerHepnerArt has yet to produce fan art for. Not to mention the characters from the game's sequel, Final Fantasy 10-2. This may mean that the artist's series may take a while to complete. With no official updates from Square Enix, the fanbase may have to be satisfied with fan art and original content from the community. However, given just how some artists churn out amazing pieces such as these, it may be enough to placate the FF10 crowd.

Final Fantasy 10 is available now for PC, PS2, PS3, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
