All of the Final Fantasy games have their own version of the Ultimate Weapons. The Ultimate Weapons are usually a specific character’s final and most powerful weapon. These special weapons usually have a difficult side quest or task to complete in order to obtain them.

In Final Fantasy X, the Ultimate Weapons are called Celestial Weapons and they usually the most difficult to get in the entire series. Even before the player thinks about searching for them they need to complete a side quest to get the Celestial Mirror. This item allows players to unlock special chests and items associated with the weapons so they can reach their full potential.

To obtain the Celestial Mirror the player needs to complete their Chocobo training at the Calm Lands. Then they need to make their way to the Remiem Temple and complete a race to get the Cloudy Mirror. Finally, the player needs to get to Macalania Woods and complete and complete to the side quest for the missing boy to transform the Cloudy Mirror into the Celestial Mirror. With that in hand let’s take a look at the ten Celestial Weapons of Final Fantasy X.

7 Rikku – Godhand

The Godhand is Rikku’s most powerful weapon in the game. Its damage is dependant on how full Rikku’s health is. It has special abilities No AP, Double Overdrive, Break Damage Limit, Triple Overdrive, Double AP, and Gillionaire.

To obtain the Godhand the player needs to enter the password 'GODHAND' on the airship's map screen. This will give access to Mushroom Rock which has a pathway to a treasure chest that needs to be opened with Celestial Mirror. However, to maximize the weapon’s stats the player needs to use the Mercury Crest which is found at the Sanubia Desert and the Mercury Sigil found at the Cactuar Village.

6 Kimahri – Spirit Lance

The Spirit Lance is Kimahri’s Celestial Weapon which has the abilities, Break Damage Limit, Triple Overdrive, Double AP, and Evade and Counter. To obtain the lance the player needs to travel to the Thunder Plains to pray in front of the three tombstones with a picture of a Cactuar on them.

Once all the three tombstones are located, Tidus needs to follow the ghost of a Cactuar until he reaches a treasure chest that requires the Celestial Mirror to open. After this, players need to travel to Mount Gagazet to collect the Saturn Crest and finally the Macalania Woods to complete the Butterfly Hunt for the Saturn Sigil.

5 Lulu – Onion Knight

The Onion Knight is the Celestial Weapon for Lulu. It has the Break Damage Limit, Triple Overdrive, Magic Booster, and One MP Cost abilities. To obtain it the player needs to defeat Geosgaeno near the Baaj Temple for a Celestial treasure chest to appear.

Lulu will then need to make sure she has the Venus Crest which is found in Guadosalam in the Farplane after Seymour has left. Then she will need the Venus Sigil which is found at the Thunder Plains where 200 lightening bolts need to be dodged in a row. With both items in hand, return to Macalania Woods to power up the Onion Knight.

4 Wakka – World Champion

The World Champion is Wakka’s Celestial Weapon. In order to obtain his most powerful weapon, Wakka needs to place at least third in the Blitzball tournament after the first trip to Luca. Then the party must pay a visit to the Cafe owner in Luca Square for her to hand over the weapon.

Then Wakka will first need the Jupiter Crest which can be obtained after the first Blitzball match against the Besaid Aurochs. Then the Jupiter Sigil will need to be collected by winning a tournament, then a league, another tournament, and then a final league to have a 50% chance of unlocking the Sigil. Finally, return to the Macalania Woods to combine the Crest, Sigel and the weapon.

3 Auron – Masamune

The Masamune is Auron’s Celestial Weapon. To obtain it the party needs the Rusty Sword obtained from the end of the pathway at the Cavern of Stolen Fayth. Then take the Rusty Sword to the Djose Highroad accessed via the Mushroom Rock Road. Then head to the statue of Lord Mi’ihen and press the X (or the A button) near it to make a glyph appear and react with the Celestial Mirror.

Auron will now have the Masamune but he will need two more items to get it to reach its full potential. First, he needs the Mars Crest which is located at the Mi’ihen Highroad accessed by hiring a Chocobo. Then the Auron will need to win the Mars Sigil at the Monster Arena to complete 10 Area or Species Conquests. Finally, Auron will need to offer up all three items at the Macalania Woods to receive the powered up Masamune.

2 Yuna – Nirvana

The Nirvana is Yuna’s Celestial Weapon which can be obtained at the Calm Lands Monster Arena. The party needs to speak to the man near the tent to start a side quest that requires the player to capture 9 monsters. Once the quest has been completed return to the man and there will be Celestial treasure chest there to open.

Yuna will now need the Moon Crest which is found in a treasure chest on Besaid Island and the Moon Sigil where the party will need to defeat the boss Belgemine at the Remiem Temple. Finally, return to Macalania Woods to and offer up all three items for the fully powered Nirvana.

1 Tidus – Caladbolg

The Caladbolg is Tidus’ Celestial Weapon. First, the player needs to complete the Chocobo Trainer side quest at the Calm Lands. Once completed, get the party to the Northwest pathway in the Calm Lands to open the Celestial Treasure chest with the Mirror.

Now Tidus will need the Sun Crest which can be obtained after defeating Yunalesca at the Zanarkand Ruins. Go to the room where the party fought her via the teleportation pads and head down the stairs to be teleported to the other side of the room – this will make the Sun Crest chest appear.

Then the player will need the Sun Sigil by challenging the Chocobo Trainer and achieving a time of less than 0:00. Finally, Tidus needs to offer up all three items to obtain the fully powered Caladbolg.
