Solo developer Never Games has released a new gameplay trailer for its upcoming "sci-fi management automation sim" title, Final Factory, where players attempt to build a space-faring empire. This indie sci-fi game also blends RTS and Bullet Hell gameplay to create something unique, with Never Games' goal being to create games where player creations and builds determine the gameplay. Final Factory features several systems, gameplay adjustments, and other elements to accomplish that.

As seen in the exclusive trailer below, Final Factory does just that. Players build networks of space stations and construct a fleet in order to take over the cosmos, eventually traveling through a black hole, but all of that is determined by the research and approach players take.

For example, Final Factory players will be able to discover new technology and implementing them factors into how players evolve their space stations, while branching skill trees determine how a player improves their fleet or their automation. Players will be able to create Dyson Sphere-like structures and Dark Star Gates, networking them together to explore the reaches of the cosmos. They'll also be setting up how each station manages its automation, with the goal being to continue the player's expansion. Players will explore new stars, planets, and black holes to find new resources, research, and so on. Click here to see Final Factory's Steam page.

Aside from the simulation aspects of the game, the player's empire, factors, and fleets may come under attack by hostile aliens. The RTS gameplay here blends with bullet hell combat to fight off these invaders, and when players win, they'll be able to take research, upgrade obelisks, and ancient portals for faster travel for these aliens. Not much else is known about these aliens as of this writing, with their sole motivation being to stop players from expanding. Still, it's an interesting premise and cool genre-blend coming out of Final Factory.

When it comes to strategy, management, and simulation games, some are more designed for casual audiences and others for hardcore audiences in how their various gameplay systems are handled. It's not certain yet where Final Factory falls in that divide or if it is one of the few games that manage to walk that fine line, but fans will no doubt learn more in the coming weeks and months, ahead of its summer 2023 release.
