Finding the best cheap young players for FIFA 23's career mode isn't always easy, particularly for those whose club doesn't have a good scouting network. Thankfully, the internet has made tracking down young players with high potential an incredibly simple task in recent years, which, in turn, has made it much easier for players to build themselves a team that will be able to dominate the opposition in both domestic and continental competitions for well over a decade without them having to spend an arm and a leg to do so.
While many of the game's hottest prospects have the potential to break through the ninety rating barrier, wonderkids like Pedri, Fati, and Musiala will cost players tens of millions of pounds to recruit and will expect wages that only the world's biggest clubs can afford to pay. This makes them far from ideal for those hoping to take a low-league side from relative obscurity to Champions League glory, at least without having to make use of the Financial Takeover option, anyway. Thankfully, there are plenty of cheaper options out there, many of whom can go on to be almost as good as their more expensive counterparts despite only costing a fraction of the price.
The following players are all aged 21 or under at the beginning of a new FIFA 23 career mode and will start out with a rating no higher than 70, meaning that most can be purchased for a few million pounds. With enough game time, they should all reach a rating above 80, with most having the potential to hit 84 or higher. Those whose club is marked with an asterisk (*) will begin the game on loan at another club, meaning that players will have to wait at least one season before they'll be able to buy them.
Updated January 7, 2023, by Tom Bowen: It's been a bit of a strange year for football fans, with the 2022 World Cup taking place slap-bang in the middle of the domestic season. Some will argue that this has only added to the excitement, with many players taking the opportunity to showcase their immense talent on the biggest stage in world footage. This has led to many having their ratings updated in FIFA 23, which has in turn had a big impact on the list of the best career mode players. These talented starlets have bright futures ahead of them and can all be snapped up for a few million or less. With this in mind, those looking for cheap young players with high potential with whom they can dominate FIFA 23's career mode have come to the right place, as these FIFA 23 wonderkids have the ability to take even the most average of teams right to the very top.
