Fifa 21 Ultimate Team players tend to use only the highest-rated rare cards in their squads. Player rankings do not always determine how well a card will perform in-game, and are tied to each player's performance in real life. There are dozens of players that are underused due to their rank, and many are even better than their rare counterparts.
Ultimate team players should look at all of the player's relevant stats before deciding if they will fit into their club. Below are players that are amazing to use, but overlooked because they do not have rare cards.
10 ALAN DOUGLAS BORGES DE CARVALHO
Carvalho has all of the attributes of an effective striker. He has good pace, shooting, strength, and dribbling. With 88 agility and 83 dribbling, Carvalho will possess the ball like the best strikers in the game.
He also has four-star skills, which are essential to create space around the net. Players will have to make sure to use him close to the net and limit the number of passes he makes, as Carvalho has sub-par passing and long shots.
9 ZÉ LUÍS
Ze Luis has been an underrated beast of a player for several years now, and FUT clubs need to give the card a try. He is a tank with over 80 strength, sprint speed, and shot power. Players should use Ze Luis as the lone target up front, as he can box out defenders and will outjump center backs with 90 jumping. Ze Luis is a great target man for Russian League squads.
8 OUSSAMA IDRISSI
Oussama is an excellent winger with 85 acceleration, 80 agility, and 85 dribbling. Idrissi routinely scores from outside the box with 80 long shots and 81 shot power. While his passing leaves something to be desired, he can create plays on the wing with his pace and four-star skills. Oussama is rather weak though, and he will let players down if defenders can get on his hip.
7 ROMAIN ALESSANDRINI
Alessandrini is a Fifa legend, and he has been a fun player to use since Fifa 13. While Alessandrini does not have the best dribbling stats, he has incredible agility, balance, and long shots. Of course, most players use him for his sprint speed. Alessandrini has enough acceleration to take on pacey backs, and double four-star attributes to keep defenders guessing.
6 ALEXANDR KOKORIN
The Russian League is not one of the top tier leagues, but it has a handful of underrated cards that are viable in Ultimate team. Kokorin is no exception, with very balanced stats for a striker. He has good pace, dribbling, shooting, and stamina. Players looking for a striker to pair with Ze Luis should consider giving Kokorin a try, they will not be disappointed.
5 GREGOIRE DEFREL
Defrel is another striker with good stats in all the relevant categories. He has 80 agility, 82 ball control, and 83 dribbling. While his stats do not jump off the page, he is a reliable striker with enough pace to get the job done. Defrel also has four-star skills, which makes him a much more effective number 9.
4 JAMES FORREST
James Forrest is blisteringly quick for a non-rare card. He has 89 pace, 90 agility, and 90 balance. Few rare players have stats that are 90 or above, and Forrest will play much better than his rating in-game. Forrest's agility and balance make him feel like Messi on the ball, and with four-star skills, he is a force to be reckoned with on the pitch.
3 LUIS RODRIGUEZ
Rodriguez can play in any position on the pitch, and he has 444 total stats, which is quite high for a 78 rated player. With 84 pace and good defending stats, he fits well in a Mexican side with four at the back. Rodriguez will make his way up and down the pitch, and make more of an impact than players might think. He is one of the best non-rare defenders in the game.
2 AARON LONG
Long was downgraded to a non-rare card in Fifa 21, but many of his stats are similar to what they were in Fifa 20. He has excellent pace for a center back and good enough defending stats to track down high rated strikers. Additionally, Long has high jumping and physical stats which help the card lockdown strong strikers in the box. Long is one of the best center backs in the MLS.
1 PAPE ABOU CISSE
Cisse is an unstoppable force in Ultimate Team. He has 94 strength and 90 sprint speed as a 75 rated card. Cisse could be one of the most overpowered players in the game due to his ridiculous stats. He has serviceable defending attributes as well, and will act as a brick wall in the center of a team's defense. Players need to try Cisse in Ultimate Team to experience how good he is in game.
