Many soccer fans are looking forward to FIFA 21 and players are hoping that the game will be a significant improvement on its predecessors. FIFA 20 attracted negative attention as it had server problems as well as a lack of progression from other installments of the series. The outlook for FIFA 21 seems brighter and Electronic Arts seems to be changing features to meet the expectations of fans. One of these changes will appear in the Pro Clubs Mode.
The Pro Clubs Mode allows players to embody an upcoming soccer star or manager and guide them through the challenges of increasingly prestigious leagues. However, the mode has been available for a number of years without any considerable changes made to the gameplay. Following a series of announcements about upcoming changes to FIFA 21, Electronic Arts have revealed that there will be a lot more options in this particular game mode in the new title.
The FIFA website updated fans on the new content that will feature in the manage section of Pro Clubs. Players will be able to change their names, kit numbers, running style, and appearance of all their players in this section of Pro Clubs on FIFA 21. This seems to be an impressive addition as it will enable players to further embody the experience because of customization and create a team where even the AI looks the way players desire. The full list of customizable aspects for AI players can be found below:
- Name (First/Last/Known As/Commentary/Kit Name)
- Kit Number
- Birth (Date/Nationality/Region)
- Preferred foot
- Face
- Skin Tone
- Eyes
- Brows
- Nose
- Mouth
- Ears
- Hair
- Facial Hair
- Kit Fit
- Accessories (Gloves, Boots, Wristbands, Sock Tape)
- Animations (Running Style, Celebrations)
Players will also be able to customize managerial tactics through the options available in the mode, this will allow players to preset tactics and implement them at will in the game. This adds depth to the roles that players can give in a game and will give fans more than the traditional attack focus and formation changes. Despite these changes, some fans may still be concerned about the quality of the upcoming title. Many have felt that in recent years the games have made trivial changes rather than adding value to the franchise and as a result, there have even been calls to boycott FIFA 21.
While these changes will please some players, FIFA 21 will need to convince others with more radical alterations that will prove that the franchise is moving forward. Whether FIFA 21 can remove all of the errors of FIFA 20 and innovate remains to be seen, but the early announcements suggest that Electronic Arts are trying to win back fans.
FIFA 21 will release on October 9th and is coming to Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
