FIFA 21 is the frontrunner in soccer games and has the licenses to not only the most prestigious competitions but the biggest teams. Excitement has been steadily building for FIFA 21 after its first trailer released and many have been keen to see how the game will adapt with the next generation of consoles. A leak has now revealed what the menu system will look like as well as some of the features that are set to be on the game, although it is unclear which generation of console the game is running on.

The FIFA franchise has had a turbulent couple of years with fans criticizing a lack of innovation as well as core problems with the game. FIFA 20 saw perhaps the biggest outcry with fans being angry at the state of career mode, server issues, and the game not being fit to host competitive gameplay. Many have hoped that these issues would be addressed in the upcoming installment and these clips do suggest improvements in the game mechanics.

A Twitter user, named FIFA21Betaa, has leaked a video of the menu system as well as how the advantage system works in the game. Many will be familiar with the advantage system in the games which sometimes encourages players to continue even though they would rather the freekick. The image below looks like players can now decide what to do after a foul has taken place.

Another video showcases the menu system which looks very familiar only it now has a different color scheme. It will be interesting to see if there are any other significant updates, and many will hope that some of the lingering issues in the franchise are fixed in FIFA 21.

The videos contain 'FIFA EA Play' watermark and so this has likely been taken from a recent insider EA reveal. With the watermark in mind, many will think that these images and videos are legitimate. However, questions will linger about what console this was played on and whether there will be a tangible difference in the release of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions and the current generation. Particularly as Electronic Arts will upgrade the games to the next generation for free.

FIFA 21 may be able to win back fans if new mechanics address old issues as the leaked pictures suggest. With that said, some fans will still be concerned about server issues in the wake of FIFA 20 and will be hoping that the game has rectified more than the advantage rule.

FIFA 21 will release on October 9th and is coming to Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
