The official release of EA's newest soccer simulation game, FIFA 20, is just days away, and players are now gearing up to try out the game's Volta mode, play through FIFA 20's Career Mode, and engage with its Pro Clubs. As players do so, they will encounter an option to "import face" in FIFA 20, and some may be wondering about the functionality of this feature. For those that are having trouble figuring out how to use FIFA 20's import face option, this guide looks to provide assistance.

To note, the FIFA 20 import face feature does not allow a player to import a scan of their own face, or the faces of their favorite players, into the game. While facial scanning is possible in NBA 2K20, that is not the purpose of the import face option in FIFA 20. Instead, import face in FIFA 20 is intended to allow players to use a face of their own creation across Volta, Career Mode, and Pro Clubs.

FIFA 20 Import Face Guide

The first step to using the FIFA 20 import face feature is to create a character. While using FIFA 20's character creation tools may not result in an avatar the exactly replicates a desired real-life face, in the way that facial scanning can, the creator is still quite robust. As such, players that spend some time with the FIFA 20 character creator should be able to create a face that closely approximates their preferred look.

With an avatar created, players will now be able to select import face in FIFA 20 to use that character's face across a variety of modes. Specifically, when starting a new game in FIFA 20's Volta mode, Career Mode, or Pro Clubs, fans will be asked to create a new character. Below the options to make adjustments to this character's head will be the choice to "import face," and selecting it will allow a player to import the face of the avatar they made previously.

While this functionality may not be exactly what some fans are hoping for, it at least means that players can easily use a consistent face as they participate in the different FIFA 20 game modes. That said, perhaps the next FIFA installment will finally bring facial scanning to this popular series.

FIFA 20 will launch on September 27 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
