Crafting in Final Fantasy 14 can be just as intense as any Disciple of War or Disciple of Magic class. Part of the challenge comes in sourcing the items required for crafting Final Fantasy 14's gear. Unlike other MMOs, there isn't a limit to the gathering or crafting classes one can partake in, making crafting even more robust.
Aldgoat Horn is the large, curved horn of an aldgoat that is used in a wide variety of crafting disciplines. It can be obtained from the Kobold Vendor in Outer La Noscea for one Titan Cobaltpiece or as a drop from one of several variations of the Aldgoat. It technically doesn't require a gathering class to harvest, as it is a drop from a beast in the open world.

Aldgoat horn isn't necessarily difficult to find and is useful in a large variety of recipes, making it an important introductory ingredient. Goldsmiths, in particular, will see a lot of use from the ingredient early on. The variety of beasts that drop the horn are plentiful in the Eastern Thanalan area and several will spawn in Fates, so farming should be easier if groups are doing the Fate hunts already. Even if one isn't planning on using the item itself, it can be gathered and sold on the Market Board via retainer.
