Adult Swim and Crunchyroll have been working together to release a series of different anime shows, including the upcoming adventure Fena: Pirate Princess. With the announcement and teaser trailer for the show coming out a few months ago, the series sparked the interest of many fans and has become one of the most anticipated new anime to come out this year.

A premiere date for Fena: Pirate Princess has finally been set for August 14th, and with that date drawing nearer a new trailer was released by Adult Swim, offering the first in-depth view of the show. The previous teaser trailer was very short and only played short clips with music and narration, but we did not get to see any of the characters speak. The new Fena: Pirate Princess trailer plays slightly longer clips of scenes that feature the voices of the main characters and gives an awesome sneak peek into the show.

The Fena: Pirate Princess trailer showcases the main character Fena's backstory before she begins her journey as a pirate princess. The Adult Swim preview also shows scenes from within the brothel, where Fena has been a servant since she was orphaned as a child. Fena shows resistance to being married off by the brothel and is shown a stone by two guards who help her escape. The stone was her father's and we learn from the trailer that he had a large career as a pirate that she must finish.

The Fena: Pirate Princess clip also has a better introduction of her crew, showcasing them as ruthless and skilled warriors. The most exciting scene of the trailer comes near the end with a clip of Fena with short boyish hair, which raises a lot of questions. Did she cut her hair to hide her appearance? Or was there some other reason? The short hair marks an incredible change in how we have seen the character so far: a cute and naive young girl. Fena seems to shed her innocence regarding violence and the high seas and takes them head-on in this groundbreaking scene.

Fena: Pirate Princess comes with an outstanding cast and crew. Directing the show is Japanese director Kazuto Nakazawa, who worked on horror anime Parasite Dolls. Voice actors include Asami Seto (Jujutsu Kaisen) as Fena, Ryota Suzuki (Boruto: Naruto Next Generations) as family member Yukimaru, Takahiro Sakurai (Demon Slayer) as warrior Shitan, Gen Sato (Bishounen Tanteidan), and Ryota Osaka (Assassin...Classroom) as twin fighters Enju and Kaede, among others. The new anime is sure to be a must-watch, with such an incredible cast and an action-packed storyline filled with twists, violence, and family secrets.

Fena: Pirate Princess will premiere on August 14th, 2021, at midnight on Adult Swim.
