Otherwise known as; How a GR Pick Came to Rule the World, Some of you may remember the (awesome) GR Pick last month, Retro Games Destroy NYC. Well, if you liked that, then there’s good news coming.

According to the folks over at Deadline, Columbia Pictures and Happy Madison are in talks to bring the two and a half minute nostalgia-trip to the big screen. Now, I know what you’re thinking. Who? What? Why? Where? How?

Unfortunately, I have none of the answers for you. Although I do think that ‘D‘ on the Deadline comments had a pretty good idea;

Opening shot of Sandler as loser 40 year old. VO describes his life as a failure beyond age of 15. Flashback to him playing in Frogger championship and losing to other 40ish Sandler crony (somebody call Rob Schneider!) who becomes big shot in video game world. Sandler lives with mom, ect.

Then we reveal… THE MAGIC VIDEO GAME! Wha-? where’d this come from?!! Gotta put a quarter into it. Nothing happened! Oh well. Sandler walks away as sparks fly from the game. SOMETHING DID HAPPEN!!!

Insert shots of YouTube video intercut with Sandler trying to warn childhood sweetheart (Call Olivia Munn!) of pixels eating NYC. No one believes him until HE BELIEVES IN HIMSELF.

Set piece,set piece, set piece, lame third act and Rotten Tomatoes give is 31%.

Oh, and let’s make it 3D, shall we?

Oh, and yeah. It’s in 3D. Rejoice and Hallelujah. To be quite honest, this has got to be the weirdest piece of news I’ve ever seen. A full 2-hour long movie out of a 2 minute long Pixel-love-in? I’m confused already.

What about you, readers? Do you like the idea of Pixels becoming a full feature length 3D movie? How on earth would it work? Let us know in the comments below.
