Any fan of scary stories growing up in the '90s or '00s probably started their horror career deep into the Goosebumps series as a child. Those who couldn't get enough of Goosebumps as they got older graduated to the more mature and terrifying series of Fear Street novels, aimed directly at a teenage audience, and Netflix is bringing those scary tales to life.

Fans who have been missing out on their beloved Fear Street novels can look forward to an incredible three-part movie series premiering on Netflix over the course of July. With few Fear Street teaser trailers released previously, Netflix finally released a new preview that dives deeper into what can be anticipated from Fear Street Part 1: 1994.

The latest Fear Street trailer features a group of teenagers, all with different personalities, fighting off many murderous psychos and monsters in a desperate attempt to find and destroy the source of the reoccurring evil. The trailer refers numerous times to a witch that is, unfortunately, back in town and spreading massacres. The last line of the film, "you can't stop it," fills the film with an air of uncertainty and impending doom as the group of teens is endlessly chased in a fight for survival. Filled with jump scares and teenage angst, the movie is sure to promise a nostalgic trip for fans amongst the many other upcoming horror remakes, adaptations, and sequels.

Author R.L. Stine himself worked on co-writing all three upcoming films, guaranteeing they will have his signature style. The young cast includes some stand-outs as well, like Sadie Sink (Stranger Things), Benjamin Flores Jr. (The Haunted Hathaways), Gillian Jacobs (Community), and many more. The Fear Street trilogy will jump backward in time for each film, with the second installment taking place in 1978 and the third in 1666. This would follow the origin story behind the Fear Street series of books, which focuses on numerous terrors and horrible incidents in a town called Shadyside, resulting from a Puritan witch's curse.

The films managed to receive an R rating, reiterating the jump from the children's Goosebumps stories. Unlike the Goosebumps series, which has been adapted to film many times, this is the first film adaptation for the often underrated and forgotten Fear Street novels.

The trailer seems to deal equally with the struggles of the teenage years, including relationships and never before realized adult responsibilities (in this case coming face to face with a colonialist witch). Viewers beware, you're in for a scare.

Watch Fear Street Part 1: 1994 on July 2nd on Netflix, Fear Street Part 2: 1978 on July 9th, and Part 3: 1666 on July 16th, 2021.
