Developer Type-Moon announces mobile versions of Fate/Extella and Fate/Extella Link to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Fate/EXTRA series. The Fate series is hugely popular among mobile gamers as Type-Moon released mobile Fate RPG, Fate/Grand Order, three years ago.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of dungeon crawler RPG Fate/Extra being released, Type-Moon today launched Fate/Extella and its sequel, Fate/Extella Link, on iOS and Android. The games are priced at ¥2,440 JPY (around $22.99 USD) each but feature microtransactions that cost up to $13.35 USD. Type-Moon has also released two trailers to celebrate the launch.

It's unclear if the games will be released on mobile devices outside of Japan. XSEED Games did localize Fate/Extella and Fate/Extella Link, releasing them in the west on PC, PS4, PS Vita, and Nintendo Switch. Theoretically, this would make the job of releasing the games in the west much easier. However, as seen with the western release of Trails of Cold Steel IV, it can sometimes take years for a publisher to bring a game west after releasing it in Japan.

Fate/Extra is seen as one of the best anime games that people can play. While Fate/Extella and Fate/Extella Link are more action games than that RPG, they also have strong, but niche support. Fans of the series will be urging Type-Moon and publisher Marvelous to bring the mobile releases west, but nothing has been confirmed about its plans.

Fate/Extella and Fate/Extella Link are available on PC, PS4, PS Vita, and Nintendo Switch.
