It's been a while since Fate/Grand Order players had anything to do after the GUDAGUDA Meiji Restoration rerun ended 2 weeks ago. Thankfully, the third GUDAGUDA event, Legend of the Imperial Capital Grail, is about to arrive featuring the return of Okita Souji, Oda Nobunaga, as well as some new servants. From June 3rd to June 15th, players can participate in the event for some fantastic rewards.

Compared to the previous GUDAGUDA events, GUDAGUDA 3 directly references the Imperial Holy Grail War which takes place in the Koha-Ace alternate timeline. Players will go back to Japan in the year 1945 and discover a far more serious story than its lighthearted predecessors. The event itself features elements that all players should be familiar with, but with a new format integrated into the plot. Be aware that unlike most other events so far, players must have cleared the Solomon main story chapter to gain access.

Sakamoto Ryouma

Sakamoto Ryouma, the newest welfare servant, will join players at the start of the event. Ryouma is a 4-star rider with a kit featuring an attack buff, party-wide NP charge, and Arts card up. Furthermore, Ryouma's claim to fame against the other welfare riders is his single target Arts Noble Phantasm which deals heavy damage and can drain an enemy's NP charge. As such, this smooth criminal look-alike will be a welcome addition to any master's roster of servants as the main source of damage or in a supporting role. Finishing the event epilogue will make Ryouma permanent while completing all missions will reward his special ascension material "Maritime Support Group's Flag" and additional copies to upgrade him to Level 80 and NP5 respectively.

Territories and Missions

During the event, players need to conquer territories to move forward. Territories can be brought under control by completing their associated missions. These missions usually require defeating enough of a certain enemy or controlling enough territories already. Fulfilling the requirements will bring the territory under control and open up more of the main story as well as neighboring territories with their own free quests to repeat the process. Just like in the Garden of Sinners event, there are 100 missions that can be completed during this event with QP, ascension materials, summon tickets, and a Crystallized Lore as a final prize.

Event Shop and Currencies

Like usual, the event shop has items that can be bought for event currency: Frog Incense Burner, Frog Netsuke, and Frog Hankerchief. Players looking to fully clean out the store will need to acquire 4000 Frog Incense Burners, 2800 Frog Netsuke, and 3200 Frog Hankerchiefs from quests. Note that the best places to farm all 3 types of currency will be free quests that open up towards the end of the event.

Event Bonus Servants

To help out with farming and completing missions, several servants related to the event story will get a damage bonus during quests.

100-Percent Damage Increase: Okita Souji (Alter), Sakamoto Ryouma

80-Percent Damage Increase: Okita Souji, Oda Nobunaga, Li Shuwen, Hijikata Toshizo, Chacha, Okada Izo

50-Percent Damage Increase: EMIYA, Medusa, Medea, Mysterious Heroine X, Mysterious Heroine X (Alter)

Besides Ryouma, most of the other servants will be available for summoning in the event banner.

Event Craft Essences

Unlike other events, there is only one craft essence that can be bought from the store or found as a random drop from quests and it specifically helps increase the spawn chance of Nobu enemies which rarely appear.

  1. The Sailor in White, +25% (100% if MLB) to the appearance rate of mini-Nobu enemies

On the other hand, players may also acquire some CEs while summoning on the gacha that increase the amount of event currency drops.

  1. Imperial Capital Grail War, +1 (+2 if MLB) to Frog Incense Burner drops
  2. Sakamoto Detective Agency, +1 (+2 if MLB) to Frog Netsuke drops
  3. Fang-Sharp Shadow Blade, +1 (+2 if MLB) to Frog Hankerchief drops

Best Places to Farm

Various missions will have players defeating certain types of Nobus or enemies with a specific trait. These will be the best quests to find them during the next 2 weeks. Note that all the nodes can drop ascension materials but their drop rate is much lower than what could be farmed during the Fate/Apocrypha event.

Mini Nobu: Shinjuku, Kiba

Silver Nobu: Sakamoto Detective Agency, Kouenji, Shiba Park

Golden Nobu: Meguro Fudou, Meki Fudou, Egota, Meao Fudou, Holy Grail Research Center

Beast-trait: Sakamoto Detective Agency, Tabata, Shinjuku, Shiba Park

Human-trait: Egota, Tsukiji, Meijiro Fudou, Meao Fudou, Kiba, Holy Grail Research Center

Demonic-trait: Shinjuku, Shiba Park, Meao Fudou, Kiba

Floating: Shinjuku, Meki Fudou, Tabata

Similarly, there are a few optimal places to farm event currency but the best nodes will open after reaching the epilogue.

Frog Incense Burner: Meki Fudou, Reverse Meguro Fudou

Frog Netsuke: Meaka Fudou

Frog Hankerchief: Kiba, Reverse Meki Fudou

After Epilogue and Challenge Quest

Once Fate/Grand Order players have reached the epilogue, Ryouma will become a permanent servant but the story isn't over yet. A reverse side of the map will reveal itself along with new nodes and missions. Taking over enough of these reverse territories and completing more missions will continue Part 2 of the event until players reach the end and receive a Holy Grail. Afterwards, completing all 100 missions will unlock a final challenge quest against Oda Nobunaga who switches between Archer, Assassin, Rider, and Caster classes.
