After its main star Vin Diesel had been teasing the release of the first Fast X trailer coming soon, it has finally been confirmed that the new Fast and Furious entry will drop the highly-anticipated footage on February 10.

The date would hardly seem like a coincidence as Fast X is the tenth installment in the Fast and Furious franchise, and also the penultimate movie before Dominic Toretto and company’s story is considered finished. While Diesel’s activity on Instagram had hinted a potential Super Bowl release date, it seems like Universal passed on that opportunity, perhaps in order to avoid sharing the spotlight with DC’s The Flash, whose trailer already has a spot booked on that Sunday night.

Confirmation of the January 10 date comes courtesy of Collider, in an exclusive report that also says the Fast X trailer could be over 3 minutes long, meaning fans will get a proper clue of what kind of trouble Toretto’s crew will be getting themselves into. Now, while the main preview won’t be featured during Super Bowl Sunday, Fast X will still make appearance on the night of the event with another TV spot that could act as a further complimentary tease for the full trailer.

The very successful F9, one of the films that brought movie theaters back to life after the pandemic, got its first trailer during the Super Bowl, so it’s not surprising to see Fast X sticking to some kind of promotion on that date. Considering this Fast and Furious film’s stacked cast, it’s not surprising the movie needs a long trailer to showcase newcomers like Brie Larson and Jason Momoa.

Besides these big names, Fast X also sees the likes of Michelle Rodriguez, Tyreese Gibson, Ludacris, Sun Kang, Jordana Brewster, Jason Statham, Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren and John Cena reprise their roles, with some rumors suggesting even Gal Gadot's Gisele come back from the dead this time around. Throughout its two-decade history, the Fast and Furious saga has always delivered on the promise of going bigger with each subsequent entry, and after venturing to space, it’s anyone’s guess what the crew will pull off this time.

As one of 2023's most anticipated movies, Fast X has plenty of hype going for it, and considering the film's budget has reportedly ballooned to $340m, the Fast and Furious's new director has to get off to a good start with its trailer.

Fast X is scheduled for release on May 19, 2023.
