An exciting first Fast X trailer will premiere in a few days, which probably explains why Vin Diesel is turning on the hype machine with the film’s first official poster, one that features Dominic Toretto under a slightly different light.

Fast and Furious' tenth entry will be the penultimate movie of the long-running franchise. As such, Fast X will bring back most of Toretto's friends and family for what could be the group’s biggest adventure, which says a lot after F9 took them to space. While the Fast X trailer won’t be showcased during Super Bowl LVII, it will appear as a second teaser only two days after the official preview goes live.

Unlike most of the posters in the movie saga, the Fast X poster shared by Diesel on his personal Instagram account (the number one source for Fast X news) features Toretto praying with his famous silver cross necklace in hand. The poster includes the caption, “The End of the Road Begins,” hinting at Dom's story coming to a close. The poster's sombre tone is in stark contrast to most Fast and Furious marketing material, which tends to lean on images of tricked-out cars and the movie’s ensemble cast.

As a bonus, Diesel mentioned what time the Fast X trailer is available next Friday. February 10 at 8:00 a.m. PT (11:00 a.m. ET) is when fans will see him clash with Charlize Theron and the franchise's newcomer Jason Momoa. It’s worth noting that the first comment that pops up on the post is from Meadow Walker, the late Paul Walker's daughter, whom Diesel walked down the aisle on her wedding day, which speaks volumes about the two men’s friendship.

So what does “The end of the road” mean for Toretto and company? Besides the reason that Fast and Furious is close to its final chapter, the message could be interpreted as the theme that will define the crew’s last hurrah, possibly even scaring some into thinking some of their favorite characters could die in either this or the next installment. Fast X will reunite the longest-serving members of Dom's team, such as Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and Sun Kang, and later franchise mainstays like Jason Statham, Helen Mirren, and John Cena.

Undoubtedly, Fast X is one of the most anticipated movies in 2023. However, it won’t be the sole beloved franchise entering its final phase, as Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1 will also set the stage for its final sequel.

Fast X is scheduled for release on May 19, 2023.
