As Fast X races into theaters, fans are gearing up to see what their favorite Fast and Furious characters are up to and what new characters will bring to the story. An interview with franchise newcomer Brie Larson revealed that while the fight scenes she's involved in may look cool, they weren't easy to achieve.Fast X is the tenth installment in the Fast and Furious franchise. As the tagline "The end of the road begins" suggests, the movie will begin to wrap up the loose threads of the franchise and lay the foundation for the group's endings. Fast X will pit Vin Diesel's Dom Toretto against Jason Momoa's Dante Reyes, the son of deceased drug lord Hernan Reyes who is set on avenging his father's death. Dante's father was killed in Fast Five when the team confronted and killed Reyes during a mission given to them by the U.S. government. Not only did the team cause Dante's death, but they also caused the loss of the Reyes family fortune.RELATED: New Fast X Poster Finally Explains What's Going On In Upcoming MovieMomoa isn't the only new face in Fast X. Larson is playing Tess, the daughter of Mr. Nobody and ally to Dom and his team. Unsurprisingly, trailers have featured footage of Larson engaging in hand-to-hand combat. While some might think she'd have an easy time shooting the scenes due to her history as a superhero, Larson says playing Captain Marvel had the opposite effect on her fighting capabilities. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight alongside her co-stars Michelle Rodriguez and Charlize Theron, Larson said, "I had to make an adjustment, because really, the only fight sequences I had done, I have extreme power as Carol. So I’m used to like, if I punch, then someone’s on a ratchet flying across. So I had to learn to temper my expectations for this one… They just go down. They don’t fly to outer space. It’s like, 'That’s weird'."

Rodriguez and Theron laughed at the comparison, with Theron commenting, "You’re like, ’They’re only moving that much?'" Both Rodriguez and Theron have had their share of fight sequences in and out of the Fast and Furious franchise, though theirs have been less superpowered than Larson's. Outside of her work in the Fast and Furious franchise, Rodriguez is probably best known for her role in the Resident Evil movies and, more recently, in Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Theron has an equally impressive background, known for her combat-focused roles in movies like Æon Flux, Mad Max: Fury Road, Atomic Blonde, and The Old Guard.

Larson's addition to a cast already full of action stars is promising for fans who've wanted more diversity in their fight scenes. Fast X's action sequences will most likely focus primarily on vehicular violence, but based on the trailer, fans should expect to see plenty of hand-to-hand combat on display. While they might not be as spectacular as some of Larson's Captain Marvel sequences, the fights in Fast X will undoubtedly be exciting, impressive, and plentiful.

Fast X is playing in theaters now.
