Farm Together is a casual, stress-free farming game that was initially released in 2018 by Milkstone Studios. Like many farming gamesFarm Together begins with the player inheriting a plot of land, which they're free to cultivate and build upon in any way that they choose. As the name suggests, players aren't alone in their journey to build a thriving farm as they can also receive help and visit the farms of other players.

As is the case with many games that offer the player a great deal of freedom, it can sometimes be tricky for new players to figure out the best approaches and strategies in Farm Together.

8 Arrange Everything

A well-organized farm

The player may only be given a small plot of land to being with in Farm Together, though this will soon change as they begin to branch out and buy multiple other plots. Consequently, if players aren't careful, they can end up with a jumbled mess of buildings, trees, and crops that are scattered all over their farm.

To prevent this from happening, players should begin organizing their farm as soon as possible. How exactly the farm is organized is up to the player and how they best remember things, though it's generally a good rule of thumb to group certain types of crops, trees, and buildings 12together while also taking the time to make signs.

7 Always Be Working On Quests

Although players have complete freedom in how they work on their farm, there are a constant stream of quests for players to complete. These quests aren't compulsory, so many new players will ignore them and simply focus on making their farm as aesthetically pleasing as possible, believing that the quests will be a distraction and take up their time.

However, ignoring quests can actually end up slowing the player down, as completing quests provides rewards, which help speed up the player's progress by letting them unlock better crops and equipment.

6 Upgrade The Gas Station

Tractor driving over plants

The tractor is one of Farm Together's most useful items, and most players will want to drive it as often as possible. The tractor significantly speeds up the player's movement and can also perform multiple actions at one time - two advantages that are particularly beneficial when the player's farm has multiple plots.

Unfortunately, the tractor does have one significant downside, in that it has to be refueled. This is particularly frustrating in the game's opening hours, where players will constantly be going to and from the gas station. So, players should make upgrading the gas station an early-game priority, as it will increase how long the player can drive between stops, significantly improving their efficiency.

5 Visit Other Farms For Ideas

As mentioned before, one of Farm Together's main selling points is how quick, easy, and enjoyable it is for players to welcome other people to their farm while also visiting some themselves.

Visiting other farms doesn't provide much financial benefit, but it can give players some invaluable ideas. Seeing how other players organize and make money can inspire players and motivate them to completely re-arrange their farm in a way that optimizes their time management and profit.

4 Merge Ponds

One of the most common beginner mistakes in Farm Together is that players will make a plethora of ponds scattered all over their farm. Moreover, players will often only merge ponds that contain the same type of fish, assuming that this is the only possibility.

In fact, players can string together tons of different individual ponds to create a giant pond filled with multiple different fish. There are a few fish that can't be merged together, but the majority can, so it's best to create one or two giant ponds as it will significantly cut down on the player's travel and harvesting times, helping them make money efficiently.

3 Use Plenty Of Sprinklers

The phrase "time is money" is very applicable to Farm Together, which is why watering plants and crops is such a pain. This is especially apparent when the player's farm is significantly expanded, as watering every plant and crop becomes virtually impossible unless player's want to spend their entire time performing the menial task.

Thankfully, there is a solution to this in the form of sprinklers. The initial outlay of purchasing numerous sprinklers may put some people off, but it's certainly worth the investment as they provide the player with a bunch of free time while also speeding up how fast the crops can be harvested.

2 Build A House As Soon As Possible

Building a house can be offputting for new players, as they cost hefty sums of money while also taking a long time to be built.

However, the investment is worth it, as it unlocks multiple new gameplay mechanics, including tickets. Tickets can be used to pay the Farmhand or buy house decorations and are earned by exchanging golden nuggets or completing jobs. Houses also give players something to work towards, which can be deceivingly beneficial to how effectively the player works.

1 Plants Flowers And Trees For Consistent Income

Flowers and trees are excellent money makers in Farm Together, as they don't need to be re-planted, saving players plenty of time. If that wasn't beneficial enough, trees don't need to be watered, making them one of the easiest ways to make money in the entire game. Furthermore, it's great to have a wide range of trees and plants, not only because they're low maintenance, but also because they'll be readily available for when they're required for a quest.
