The upcoming release of Ubisoft Montreal's Far Cry New Dawn is set to bring players back to Hope Country following the aftermath of Far Cry 5. Some of the biggest details known about the impending release is that it takes place 17 years after the events of the preceding story, includes a new dog companion, and sees the introduction of two new villains.

Those playing on Xbox One and PC also now know how much free space they'll need on their hard drives when Far Cry New Dawn releases. On both systems, players will need to have 22.77 GB and 30 GB available on Xbox One and PC, respectively. As with any new release nowadays, it's likely there will need to be additional space freed up to accommodate any additional content add-ons and regular updates the game may have.

It shouldn't come as a surprise Far Cry New Dawn requires less storage space than its predecessor, Far Cry 5. The latter required nearly 40GB of hard drive space at launch, and of course further increased that number with its season pass content and software updates. While the file size for PlayStation 4 has been omitted from the announcement, it's likely the required hard drive space will be close to the same amount.

Despite Far Cry New Dawn being a smaller experience, it's not as if Ubisoft is taking the sequel story lightly. In a recent interview with the game's Creative Director Jean-Sebastien Decant, Far Cry New Dawn is being shaped to have its own identity despite residing in a reused open-world. With the resurrection of society has come new enemy factions, a brand new approach to crafting and upgrading weapons, and how the long-term effects of radiation exposure have altered the environment and wildlife of Hope County. All that, and the introduction of two new villains, twin sisters Mickey and Lou, seem to bring enough to give New Dawn its very own look and feel.

Far Cry New Dawn was first revealed during The 2018 Game Awards this past December. The new adventure brings with it the introduction of open-world challenges called expeditions, brutal boss battles with the wildlife due to radiation exposure, and guns for hire, a similar system used in Far Cry 5 which allows players to call upon companions to join them during story missions.

Far Cry New Dawn releases on February 15th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
