This past week, Far Cry 6 had its gameplay revealed for the first time by Ubisoft. The 10-minute presentation was full of in-game cinematics and action sequences as Far Cry 6 protagonist Dani Rojas wars against petty tyrant Anton Castillo. In the days since the reveal, Far Cry fans have been able to parse the video for interesting details between the explosions. One watchful fan discovered a fun Easter egg throwback to Far Cry 3.

Redditor fjsocjwkxj shared a screen capture from the Far Cry 6 gameplay reveal, showing off what appears to be a Far Cry 3 Vaas dashboard ornament. It comes from a sequence where Dani is driving a car through an area with no combat. It's not something immediately apparent, so fjsocjwkxj must have caught on by going through the video slowly.

Vaas is one of the most iconic characters of the franchise. He's one of the villains from Far Cry 3, the game that defined the style and personality of the series to follow. In Far Cry 3, Vaas is unstable and violent. Ubisoft constantly puts him face-to-face with the player in cinematics so he's consistently intimidating. His famous quote about the definition of insanity is a big part of Vaas' popularity, too, so it's no surprise that Ubisoft continues to pay tribute to Vaas.

Since it's a screencap and not a video clip, it's difficult to tell whether the Vaas dashboard ornament is a bobblehead or not. It can probably be assumed, however, since the Far Cry franchise is known for allowing players to collect bobbleheads. There's even a Vaas bobblehead in Far Cry 5, with Vaas' head stuck on top of a hula dancer figure. It's apparently a standard option that Far Cry 5 players can choose when they're customizing their vehicles.

Odds are, if Ubisoft is already teasing a Vaas bobblehead in Far Cry 6, it'll be yet another cosmetic that players will be able to acquire and use to customize their vehicles. Perhaps it'll be a standard option like in Far Cry 5, or perhaps players will have to earn it through exploration or an achievement.

The Vaas dashboard ornament is more evidence that while Far Cry 6 will be framed as a game about taking down a violent tyrant, it's still an arcade-y shooter at its heart. As the gameplay reveal made clear, fun is still the goal of the experience. Expect to see more bobbleheads, and likely more classic Far Cry references, when Far Cry 6 arrives later this year.

Far Cry 6 releases October 7 on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
