After some delay related to the COVID-19, the release date for Far Cry 6 (October 7) is almost here. Ubisoft also recently announced the game has gone gold as well, so while that doesn’t necessarily guarantee there won’t be another delay, everything is moving forward on the basis of Far Cry 6 releasing on October 7.

It seems that, day and date of its release, Far Cry 6 fans will also be able to pick up a watch inspired by the game. In-game, Far Cry 6 protagonist Dani Rojas gets a special watch—the Khaki Field Titanium—from Juan Cortez, an important member of the revolution and former member of the Yaran government under President Santos Espinosa. Reportedly, the latter gave Cortez the watch for saving his life in 1983, and Cortez will, in turn, give it to Dani after a certain mission.

In-game, wearing this watch gives players the perk of taking reduced damage while sprinting around the open world of Far Cry 6, and while it could also be seen as a fashion statement, players who really want it as a fashion statement will be able to pick one up. As part of a collaboration between Ubisoft and Hamilton, a watch designer among other things, fans will be able to pick up the Khaki Field Titanium Far Cry 6 Limited edition watch on October 7 alongside the game. The catch is, the watch is $1200.

The watch will only be produced in a limited quantity –1,983 of them, in fact, honoring Cortez’s story—and features a 42mm titanium case, black face dial, an H-130 three-hand movement, and 80-hour power reserve. Perhaps the biggest identifier that it is a special edition watch and piece of merch is that the six on the watch is styled after the six in Far Cry 6.

For most consumers, it’s likely this watch is a little too rich for their blood, but as popular as the franchise is, it’s not too surprising to see this watch made in real life. And while this Far Cry 6 watch remains expensive, it’s not the most expensive or silliest piece of merch to come out of video games. Fortnite recently revealed its Balenciaga shirt, which is a plain white button-down with a Fortnite logo and Balenciaga on the front with black text on the back, and it’s retailing for $995.

Furthermore, outside the game world, it’s not exactly like good watches are cheap. There are several names and brands of watches out there more expensive than Hamilton, so while this particular watch is expensive, it may be worth it to Far Cry and fancy watch fans.

Far Cry 6 releases October 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
