The Far Cry series gifts the player with a lot of tools at their disposal. After all, the series has always been something of a Rambo power fantasy and more so than ever in Far Cry 6. Especially as the lead character Dani, whether one is playing as a male or a female, is already an experienced soldier and fighter that only improves as a killing machine as the game progresses. One of the simplest yet effective tools in Dani's arsenal is the sliding mechanic. It allows players to slip away into grass undetected and get to cover with speed and finesse.
Of course, sometimes it's just a lot of fun to slide all over the place without any apparent reason. What better way to mess around with the sliding mechanic than trying to obtain the Far Cry 6's "Slip Sliding Away" Achievement/Trophy. This trophy will pop when the player has slid for a total of 200 meters in one go. This can be a lot trickier than it sounds, but that's where this guide can help.
Updated December 5, 2021 by Michael Llewellyn: A few months into the game and the Slip Sliding Away Achievement/Trophy is still managing to evade some of its players in Far Cry 6. The Trophy will only activate if Dani slides a total of 200 meters in one attempt.
While that's impossible to complete on a flat surface, there are several high points located on Far Cry 6's map that will help the player gain the Trophy without too much issue. This updated guide now includes two methods and locations to gain the Slip Sliding Away Trophy and both can be obtained surprisingly early in the game once Dani has left the Libertad HQ.
Obtaining The Slip Sliding Away Achievement
There are two primary locations that players should consider when attempting to unlock this Achievement/Trophy. One is located on the Bandoleros Mountain, while the other is the Noventarmas Grass Hill. Both methods are summarized as follows:
Location 1: Bandoleros Mountain
To get this achievement to pop with immediate effect, the player needs to make their way to one of the highest points in the game, which is located in the province of Noventarmas in Valle de Oro. Follow these directions to locate the prime spot.
Finding Bandoleros Mountain
The player should make their way to Bandoleros Mountain. It is southwest of Hideout Danzon, a Guerrilla Hideout that can be unlocked as a fast travel location using the camp upgrades. The Banderos Mountain is hard to miss, but it can be a bit daunting trying to figure out where the climbing points are. Follow these steps to reach the top:
- The player should make their way southwest of the mountain until they find a workbench. To the right of the workbench, there is a grapple point to ascend the mountain.
- Once at the top, walk around the side of the mountain until Dani finds a path with two signs warning people not to slip.
- Ignore the warning signs and get some distance from the slip path.
- Then, sprint towards the ledge by clicking the LS button. Once the player is close enough to the ledge, they should quickly press the B button on Xbox or Circle on PlayStation just before they reach the edge.
- This initiates a slide, and Dani will continue to gather speed until they reach the bottom.
- Once the player reaches the bottom of the mountain, the Achievement/Trophy will pop. However, one should be aware there may be wild animals waiting to attack at the bottom.
Location 2: Noventarmas Grass Hill
The second location to activate this Trophy/Achievement is a little more difficult than the Bandoleros Mountain location. However, there are less dangerous animals in this location and it can be accessed very early in the game upon leaving the Libertad GQ after the tutorial missions.
The location can be found between Balaceras and Cruz Del Salvador in the Noventarmas region. To find the grassy hill follow these simple steps:
- To get the Achievement/Trophy early head northeast from Libertad Island on the boat.
- Ignore the "Meet Maximas Matanzas" quest for now and head toward the Cape Santa Checkpoint.
- Clear this checkpoint to lower the number of enemies patrolling this region and activate a fast travel point for later convenience.
- Head northeast from the Cape Santa Checkpoint.
- Head towards the center of the river curve marked on the map.
- Take Dani the highest point on the grassy hill.
- Make sure Dani is facing the easternmost area overlooking Los Sabios Valley.
- Holster Dani's weapons and sprint to the edge of the hill and hit the B or Circle button to activate the slide mechanic.
- Dani should slide down past the 200m point to activate the Trophy/Achievement.
Using the Grass Hill location instead of the Bandoleros Mountain may take more attempts to get right but its easily accessible location means that the player can obtain the "Slip Sliding Away" Trophy/Achievement with fewer headaches. Additionally, enemies aren't roaming the area as much because it's not located within an anti-aircraft zone.
